The Best Work You May Never See: Heineken's "The Final"
Duration: 60 seconds
Fredrik Bond via Sonny, London (he continues to be repped stateside by MJZ), directed this latest installment of the "Road to the Final" campaign with a spot which features one lucky fan, who receives a ticket to the UEFA Champions League Final. Agency is Wieden+Kennedy, Amsterdam.
Top Spot of the Week: Newcastle Brown Ale's "Big Machines"
Duration: 15 seconds
Droga5 created this "No Bollocks 2013" campaign for New Castle Brown Ale, which includes this spot comprised entirely of still photo images intended to cut through the clutter of expensive, elaborate, overly produced ads typical of the beer category. Stills show in tongue-in-cheek fashion the evolution of handcrafting a brew.
Jameson's "Iron Horse"
Duration: 60 seconds
Composer/arranger Robert Miller and sound designer Gus Koven of stimmung teamed with sound designers/mixers Phil Loeb and Joel Levine of Heard City on this period piece spot chronicling John Jameson's encounter with the newly invented steam engine.
Top Spot of the Week: Budweiser's "Brotherhood"
Duration: 60 seconds
Jake Scott of RSA Films directed this commercial which depicts the enduring relationship between a trainer and his horse, in this case that rare breed of Clydesdale that has gone on to Budweiser fame. This tug-at-the-heartstrings piece debuted on the Super Bowl telecast and came out of New York ad agency Anomaly.
Smirnoff's "Nocturnal Awakening"
Duration: 30 seconds
Director Nima Nourizadeh of Partizan takes us deep into the fun night life for which the excitement is roused by a colorful score from Squeak E Clean, Los Angeles.
Guinness' "Cloud"
Duration: 60 seconds
Director Peter Thwaites of Gorgeous teamed with The Mill, London, on this spot which tells the tale of a cloud that is "more" than a cloud, not directed by the wind but some inner force as it comes from the sea to meander over a city, yet with great purpose.
Top Spot of the Week: Heineken's "Crack the Case"
Duration: 60 seconds
Matthijs van Heijningen of MJZ directed this spot in which an unsuspecting gent is mistaken for James Bond and has to elude the famed secret agent's bad guy pursuers. Daniel Craig himself portrays the real Bond in this spot which is largely set on a train with the not quite wannabe Bond using all his resourcefulness to escape the villains looking to do him harm.
Top Spot of the Week: Carlton Draught's "Beer Chase"
Duration: 90 seconds
Steve Ayson of The Sweet Shop directed this offbeat car chase--without cars--as criminals carefully scamper away from the police while holding glasses full of Carlton Draught. The non-vehicular pursuit still, however, contains elements of a Hollywood car chase sequence.

Duration: 60 seconds
Kerry Shaw Brown via his production house Rascals & Rogues directed this client-direct spot depicting a world gone mad, with police trying to stave off rioters, fire bombs going off, ash filling the air like snow flakes. Hennessey's "Manny"
Duration: 30 seconds
This portrait of the sweet science of boxing, as conducted and trained for by Manny Pacquiao, unfolds like visual poetry, accompanied by a score from Human. Johnny Green of Hungry Man directed for Droga5, New York.
