What SHOOTonline content is broadcast via SHOOTmobile?
Includes all published SHOOT News & Features including in-depth stories and backstories, interviews, POVs, Editorials, News Briefs, Top Spot of the Week, Best Work You May Never See, Spotlights, Bulletin Board, etc. All SHOOT Publicity Wire News (SPW) including new screenwork releases, people on the move, new start-ups to mergers, awards show news, etc. And, a new, digital-only column called “Buzz.” “Buzz” is the thoughts of the industry, from a list of movers & shakers’ tweets curated by the editors of SHOOT, chosen from followers of SHOOTonline’s Twitter page at www.twitter.com/SHOOTonline.
How do I get the FREE SHOOTmobile web app? First, simply open your web browser (
Internet explorer, Firefox or Google Chrome, etc.) on your Smartphone (
iPhone or Android). Then, visit http://mobile.shootonline.com. Finally, bookmark it.nbsp;Then when you want to get the latest from SHOOTmobile web app on your mobile device open your browser and visit SHOOTmobile bookmark.
Which mobile devices are compatible with the SHOOTmobile web app?
At this time the SHOOTmobile web app is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and Android 2.0+ devices.
What about Blackberry compatibility?
Currently most BlackBerry devices are powered by a different browsing technology than iPhone and Android devices. In an effort to offer our readers the most dynamic app experience, we’ve chosen to build our mobile web apps with HTML5—a cutting edge technology supported on iPhone and Android devices. BlackBerry has announced support for HTML5 on newer device models. As BlackBerry moves to support this technology on future devices, we look forward to testing compatibility.
What happens if someone accesses SHOOTmobile web app on a non-compatible device?
If someone accesses SHOOTmobile app on a non-compatible device, there is a good chance the app will still load, but it may load slower and some elements may be missing. If not, we have installed a redirect script to SHOOTonline.com website, it will only redirect for viewers it detects are on supported devices.
What about Flash-based content such as YouTube, Vimeo, SPW Videos?
Flash is not supported by iPhone devices. However, we can still include traditional Flash content such as videos because the SHOOTmobile Web App optimizes our content to make it easy for iPhone devices to open and play your videos using a code other than Flash.
If you add new content to SHOOTonline.com, will my this mobile web app update?
Changes to SHOOTonline.com and Twitter.com/SHOOTonline, will dynamically update to your mobile device anytime we make changes or add new content.
How fast will SHOOTmobile web app reflect changes to content?
SHOOTmobile will reflect any content updates, changes, or additions to your mobile device within 15 minutes of you making the change. The 15 minute wait time allows us to save a version of content to show in the event a feed is temporarily unavailable (see below).
What happens to SHOOTmobile content if SHOOTonline.com or Twitter is down?
If a SHOOTmobile feed becomes unavailable, such as SHOOTonline or Twitter, SHOOTmobile will continue to serve the last content that was available before the feed came down.
