    LOS ANGELES --

Feature film winners at the 67th Motion Picture Sound Editors (MPSE) Golden Reel Awards included 1917 (Universal Pictures), Jojo Rabbit (Fox Searchlight), Rocketman (Paramount Pictures) Parasite (Neon) and Ford v Ferrari (Twentieth Century Fox). Held at the Bonaventure Hotel in L.A. on Sunday evening (1/19), the black-tie awards ceremony recognized outstanding achievement in sound editing across 23 categories encompassing feature films, long-form and short-form television, animation, documentaries, games, special venue and other media.

1917 topped the feature sound editing, dialogue/ADR category while Jojo Rabbit was honored for music underscore, Rocketman for sound editing in a musical, Parasite for sound editing in a foreign language feature, and Ford v Ferrari for its effects/foley work.

Academy Award-nominated producer (Little Women) Amy Pascal presented the 2020 MPSE Filmmaker Award to Marvel Studios EVP of production Victoria Alonso (with re-recording mixer Kevin O’Connell and supervising sound editor Steven Ticknor as honorary presenters).

The 2020 MPSE Career Achievement Award was presented to Academy Award-winning supervising sound editor Cecelia “Cece” Hall by two-time Academy Award-winning supervising sound editor Stephen H. Flick.

The opening address was given by Mark Lanza, president-elect of the MPSE. “This is an exciting time for film, television, and games,” he said. “Business models, formats, and distribution are all changing. Original scripted TV shows have set a record in 2019. There were 532 original shows this year. This number is expected to surge in 2020. Our editors and supervisors are paving the way and making our product and the user experience better every year.”

    Here’s a rundown of the evening’s winners.

Oscar Hopefuls Including Jessie Buckley, Timothée Chalamet and Teyana Taylor Gather For Lunch and Class Photo

    Tuesday, February 10, 2026

Nearly all of the 230 people up for Oscars across 24 categories gathered Tuesday for the Academy Award nominees luncheon, an event that functions as a celebration, group portrait session and orientation for next month's big ceremony. Nominees including Jessie Buckley, Timothée Chalamet, Leonardo DiCaprio and Emma Stone sat for lunch and stood for a class photo alongside nominees for awards including best animated short and the newly created casting Oscar. The ballroom at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California, was especially full of nominees for "Sinners," the most nominated film of all time, including star Michael B. Jordan and director Ryan Coogler. Lynette Howell Taylor, elected in July as president of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, made her first address to Oscar nominees, and gave them a set of instructions on how to handle their acceptance speeches if they win. The luncheon is a relatively egalitarian affair where big names mix with small ones and veteran nominees stand for photos with first-timers. Craig Renaud, nominated for best documentary short for "Armed Only With a Camera: The Life and Death of Brent Renaud," got to chat with DiCaprio, up for best actor for "One Battle After Another," at the tables before the group photo. Nearby, Mohammaddreza Eyni, co-director with Sara Khaki of documentary feature nominee "Cutting Through Rocks," talked about his film with Ethan Hawke, nominated for best actor for "Blue Moon." The roll call where... Read More
