MJZ leads AICP Show production company field with 45 mentions; Tool tops Next Awards shortlist with 7
The AICP Show and AICP Next Awards shortlists have been released. Winners will be revealed during AICP Week in NYC with the Next Awards ceremony at the NYU Skirball Center on June 10, and the AICP Show premiere at the Museum of Modern Art on June 12.
On the AICP Show shortlist, the top production companies mentioned are: MJZ, with 45; Park Pictures and Biscuit Filmworks, each with 10; Smuggler with nine; Folke Film and Furlined with seven mentions each; and Moonbot Studios tallying six. For agencies, the top mentions included work from various offices of: Wieden+Kennedy with 31; BBDO with 22; and BBH with nine. Offices of Forsman & Bodenfors, Grey and 72andSunny each appeared seven times, while offices of Droga5, CAA Marketing and mcgarrybowen were mentioned six times.
For the AICP Next Awards shortlist, on the production company side, Tool appeared seven times; Furlined five times; Exit Films four; and Bossa, Legs Media, and Station Film each appeared three times. For agencies, the top five mentions included work from various offices of: Wieden+Kennedy, with 12 appearances; and Leo Burnett with nine. Offices of BBDO and Forsman & Bodenfors were each mentioned six times; Clemenger BBDO was on four times. Offices of Barton F. Graf 9000, Droga5, INNOCEAN, Pereira & O’Dell, R/GA, and Venables Bell & Partners each appeared three times.

The Vatican and Microsoft on Monday unveiled a digital twin of St. Peter's Basilica that uses artificial intelligence to explore one of the world's most important monument's while helping the Holy See manage visitor flows and identify conservation problems. Using 400,000 high-resolution digital photographs, taken with drones, cameras and lasers over four weeks when no one was in the basilica, the digital replica is going online alongside two new on-site exhibits to provide visitors -- real and virtual -- with an interactive experience. "It is literally one of the most technologically advanced and sophisticated projects of its kind that has ever been pursued," Microsoft's president Brad Smith told a Vatican press conference. The project has been launched ahead of the Vatican's 2025 Jubilee, a holy year in which more than 30 million pilgrims are expected to pass through the basilica's Holy Door, on top of the 50,000 who visit on a normal day. "Everyone, really everyone should feel welcome in this great house," Pope Francis told Smith and members of the project's development teams at an audience Monday. The digital platform allows visitors to reserve entry times to the basilica, a novelty for one of the world's most visited monuments that regularly has an hours-long line of tourists waiting to get in.
