    NEW YORK --

The Association of Music Producers has announced that its call for entries has just been issued to the advertising, branding and music industries at large and it’s ready to accept online entries for its annual competition for outstanding work in music and sound for all media.

Those interested in entering work in the 2016 AMP Awards can do so at the awards entry portal here. Deadline for entries is March 18, 2016.

To be eligible for the AMP Awards, work must have first appeared between March 1, 2015, and March 1, 2016. Full competition rules and eligibility requirements can be found at the entry portal site.

The categories for the 2016 AMP Awards include Best Original Song; Best Original Score; Outstanding Adaptation / Arrangement; Best Use of a Licensed Pre-existing Song; Best Sound Design; Best Use of Music in a Campaign; Best Use of Music for a Film or Game Promo/Trailer; Best Use of Music In Emerging Media; Outstanding Mix; Best Execution of a Sonic Logo/ID; and Most Impactful Radio Commercial.

Winners will be announced at the awards presentation and show, scheduled for Wednesday, May 11, at City Winery in New York. In addition to presenting trophies in each category, the competition’s Curatorial Jury will designate a single winner for the Best in Show honors.

More news is on tap for the awards as well: the 2016 AMP Awards Advisory Board members will be announced soon, as well as this year’s honorary Awards Chair. For AMP’s leaders, the developments reflect music’s vital role in the advertising and branding mix. “The support we’ve received from the entire advertising and music community–from members, from our agency partners, from labels and publishers and advertisers themselves–underscores the importance of music and sound to the marketing process and makes our show such a highly respected forum for industry recognition,” said Jeff Rosner, partner at the New York audio post house Color and a leader of AMP’s Awards committee.

In addition to presenting its signature awards, AMP will induct an iconic brand into its Hall of Fame at the City Winery event. The Hall honors advertisers for Outstanding Achievement in the Use of Music to Define the Brand and has been presented to such marketers as Coca-Cola, McDonald’s, Budweiser, Nike, Chevrolet and Pepsi. And, as it has each year, the awards presentation will feature live performances by up-and-coming artists, assuring that its reputation as the “loudest awards show in the industry” is secure.
