    NEW YORK --

    The Gotham Film & Media Institute has unveiled the nominations for the 34th edition of The Gothams, singling out 39 feature films and 25 performances in nine award categories. The nominations were announced via social media.

    Nominated for Best Feature are Anora, Babygirl, Challengers, A Different Man, and Nickel Boys.

    Up for Best International Feature are All We Imagine as Light, Green Border, Hard Truths, Inside the Yellow Cocoon Shell, and Vermiglio.

    Best Documentary Feature nominations went to Dahomey, Intercepted, No Other Land, Soundtrack to a Coup d’Etat, Sugercane, and Union.

    And Best Director nominees are: Payal Kapadia for All We Imagine as Light; Sean Baker for Anora; Guan Hu for Black Dog; Jane Schoenbrun for I Saw the TV Glow; and RaMell Ross for Nickel Boys.

    Anora topped the nominations tally with a total of four, followed by I Saw the TV Glow and Nickel Boys with three apiece.

    “We are proud to announce the nominees for The Gothams, selected by nominating committees who bring their independent perspective to the selection process. This year’s nominations celebrate voices from across the globe, embodying the growing embrace of international cinema by audiences everywhere. We look forward to celebrating our nominees and our Gotham tributes in a few weeks,” said Sharp.

    The Gothams provides early recognition and media attention for outstanding and groundbreaking storytellers, including writers, directors, producers and actors.

    Nominees are selected by committees of film critics, journalists, festival programmers, and film curators. Separate juries of writers, directors, actors, producers, editors, and other film industry professionals will determine the final recipients of The Gothams.

    The Gothams Tributes, which will also be presented at the ceremony and are the organization’s highest honors celebrating outstanding achievement in film. The Tributes recognize the industry’s most accomplished creators and performers whose work has made an indelible impact on both the art form and popular culture.

    The 2024 Gothams will be held live and in person at 7 pm on Monday, December 2nd at Cipriani Wall Street in New York City.

    “Sinners” Tops Critics Choice Awards With 17 Nominations

    The Critics Choice Association (CCA) unveiled the nominees for the 31st annual Critics Choice Awards with “Sinners” leading the way on the film side with 17 nominations, including for Best Picture while cast members Michael B. Jordan, Wunmi Mosaku, and Miles Caton are up for Best Actor, Best Supporting Actress, and Best Young Actor/Actress respectively. Ryan Coogler was recognized in the categories of Best Director and Best Original Screenplay, and the film also received nods for Best Casting and Ensemble, Best Cinematography, Best Production Design, Best Editing, Best Costume Design, Best Hair and Makeup, Best Visual Effects, Best Stunt Design, Best Song, Best Score, and Best Sound. “One Battle After Another” followed closely behind “Sinners,” earning 14 nominations.

    “Adolescence” leads this year’s television nominees with six nominations including a nod for Best Limited Series. The cast was recognized across multiple categories, with Stephen Graham nominated for Best Actor in a Limited Series or Movie Made for Television. Castmates Owen Cooper and Ashley Walters each received nods for Best Supporting Actor in a Limited Series or Movie Made for Television, while Erin Doherty and Christine Tremarco are both up for Best Supporting Actress in a Limited Series or Movie Made for Television. “Nobody Wants This” was also one of the top-nominated TV contenders, earning five nominations.
