The Monica Lewsinsky anti-bullying initiative "The Epidemic" garnered eight finalists at the ADC 99th Annual Awards, helping BBDO top the overall finalists tally with 29.

Followed by Goodby Silverstein & Partners, then TBWA\Media Arts Lab and The New York Times

    NEW YORK --

Design studios, ad agencies, production companies, brands and freelancers in 32 countries have made the cut as finalists for the ADC 99th Annual Awards, as announced by The One Club for Creativity.

Entries in the global ADC 99th Annual Awards increased 6% from last year, coming in from 59 countries.  All finalists will win either Gold, Silver Bronze Cubes, or Merit certification.  The complete list of finalists can be viewed here.

BBDO New York has the most finalist entries with 29, including eight with Sanctuary Los Angeles for the Monica Lewinsky anti-bullying initiative’s “The Epidemic” and seven with Smuggler New York for Sandy Hook Promise’s “Back to School Essentials”.

Goodby Silverstein & Partners San Francisco is runner up this year with 23 finalists, including five each for Doritos “Cool Ranch” and Daughters of the Revolution “Lessons in Herstory”.

TBWAMedia Arts Lab Los Angeles and The New York Times Magazine each have 20 entries on the finalists list.  Scholz & Friends Berlin has 19, Serviceplan Munich and DDB Paris each have 16, Heimat Berlin has 13, and Jung von Matt Hamburg and No Fixed Address Toronto each have 12.

Specific work receiving the most finalists spots include Scholz & Friends Berlin’s “The Tampon Book” for The Female Company with nine and BBDO New York’s “The Epidemic” for Monica Lewinsky with eight.

Five entries each received seven finalists spots: Antoni Berlin’s “Bertha Benz: The Journey That Changed Everything” for Mercedes-Benz, BBDO New York’s “Back to School Essentials” for Sandy Hook Promise, RT Moscow for its own “#Romanov100 AR Photo Album,” Serviceplan Munich’s “Made in Fukushima” for Meter Group, and TBWAMedia Arts Lab’s “Bounce” for Apple.

On the cusp of its historic centennial anniversary, the ADC Annual Awards are the longest continually-running global awards program celebrating excellence in craft and innovation in all forms of design and advertising.  It differs in focus from The One Club for Creativity’s One Show awards, where judges focus on creativity of ideas and quality of execution.

The ADC Annual Awards are also recognized for celebrating the work of freelancers and small studios, as reflected in it’s tiered-pricing entry system that makes it more affordable for solo designers and small studios to participate.  Work from freelancers makes up 115 finalist spots this year, with another 76 coming from small studios and agencies.

This year’s ADC 99th Annual Awards winners will be announced online in mid-May during a very special month of unique original One Club for Creativity programming, details will be announced shortly.

Review: Director Noah Baumbach’s “Jay Kelly,” Starring George Clooney

    Tuesday, November 18, 2025

During his glittering career, George Clooney has played a casino thief, a Batman,a chain-gang convict, an assassin and a high-flying layoff artist. This fall, he's stretching even more, playing an utterly charming and gorgeous movie star. Kidding! Reality and fiction beautifully weave in and out in "Jay Kelly," director Noah Baumbach's love letter to Hollywood that, in other hands, could so easily have become just a love letter to Clooney. The script by Baumbach and Emily Mortimer finds Clooney — sorry, Jay Kelly — in a sort of midlife funk. He's 60, a universally beloved, deeply earnest movie hunk who has worked his way to the top and found, well, artifice. "My life doesn't really feel real," he says at one point, an actor trained in pretending going meta playing an actor trained in pretending. In another scene he muses: "All my memories are movies." A chance meeting with an old acting partner — a brilliant Billy Crudup, whose character was betrayed by Kelly years ago — reveals some unpleasant truths. "Is there a person in there? Maybe you don't actually exist," he asks the star, sending Kelly on a journey of self-discovery that just so happens to lead to one of Clooney's favorite places, Italy. Kelly's careful facade — the stories he tells about himself — soon gets chipped away. On his way up the hills of Hollywood, he apparently left some personal carnage behind. "Jay Kelly" is about those who sacrificed to get him there. Adam Sandler and Laura Dern play Kelly's long-suffering manager and publicist, respectively, while his resentful adult daughters are portrayed by Grace Edwards and Riley Keough. Kelly, we learn, put career first and that meant walking away from things like his daughters' school recitals and making his staff miss... Read More
