Monty Whitebloom (l) and Andy Delaney, aka bigtv!
    SANTA MONICA, Calif. --

Andy Delaney and Monty Whitebloom, also known as the directorial team  bigtv!–who at press time were wrapping post on their feature directorial debut, Look Away–have joined production house GARTNER as they set their sights back on the U.S. spot/branded content market.

Directors/DPs Delaney and Whitebloom are well established in the ad sector, with commercials to their credit internationally and in the U.S. for such clients as Lincoln, Payless, AXA, Eurostar, Ford, Reebok, Subaru, the Olympics, Mercedes-Benz, Levi’s, Mitsubishi and Rolling Rock.  The directing duo–which had been repped by DNA for spots and branded fare prior to joining GARTNER–won the Mobius award for best brand campaign with Constellation Energy and the Grand Prix Cassie for Sunchips. bigtv! has also shot numerous stills campaigns for commercial fashion brands such as Sears, Kohl's, Payless and Lacoste.

bigtv!’s alluded to first theatrical feature, Look Away, is a modern love story starring Matthew Broderick and Chloe Sevigny. Made in association with New Regency, Look Away will be released later this year.

Whitebloom and Delaney have been a creative partnership since their days at Goldsmiths College, London University. They have gone on to direct work spanning multiple disciplines.  In addition to their feature and commercialmaking endeavors, Delaney and Whitebloom have turned out music videos, short film fare, art and photography. They have garnered nominations and awards for their music videos (Maroon 5, Biffy Clyro, Usher and George Michael) including MTV’s Best Video of The Year for Lauryn Hill’s “Doo-Wop (‘That Thing’).”

bigtv!’s critically acclaimed short film, Polarbearman featuring Lee Pace, was commissioned by Al Gore’s SOS Live Earth project, and was nominated at the Eurobest and the Epica short film awards.

“I have known and followed Andy’s and Monty’s work and careers for over a decade and I’m thrilled to finally be a part of their next chapter,” said Don Block, exec producer of GARTNER. “The breadth of their talents and experience is a perfect fit for the company and for the demands of the market today.”

bigtv! joins a GARTNER directorial roster which includes Raymond Bark, Mike Bigelow, Andrea Buchanan, James Gartner, Ben Gordon, Gavin James, Marcus Nispel, Robert Maya, Terry Rietta and David Serota.

Thanks To Shows Like “Abbott Elementary” and “Hacks,” LGBTQ+ Representation On Primetime TV Grows

    Thursday, November 6, 2025

TV shows like "Abbott Elementary," "Hacks," "Heartstopper," "The Last of Us" and "Yellowjackets" helped increase the ranks of LGBTQ+ characters on prime time by 4% over the previous season, according to a new study by the advocacy group GLAAD. This year's "Where We Are on TV" study, released Thursday, counted 489 LGBTQ characters across scripted prime-time broadcast, cable and streaming shows β€” up 21 additional characters. It marks a boost after two years of decline, but remains far below the 2021-2022 record high of 637 characters. Sarah Kate Ellis, president and CEO of the group, warned that those numbers could still decrease soon: More than 200 of the LGBTQ+ characters counted this year β€” in shows like "Heartstopper," "Harlem" and "Elite" β€” will not be returning due to a flurry of series cancellations, endings or because they were limited series. "Storytelling brings us together and this current cultural and political climate calls on creatives and executives to double down on fair and accurate stories of LGBTQ people," Ellis writes in the report. GLAAD added that the number of transgender characters on TV has slightly increased from last year to reach 33 β€” 24 trans women, seven trans men, and two nonbinary characters β€” but only four trans characters appear on series that have been officially renewed. The report is the 20th edition of the annual tracking by GLAAD and charts a remarkable leap from just 47 LGBTQ+ characters in the first study. It arrives as President Donald Trump has targeted transgender and nonbinary people with a series of executive orders β€” including one declaring the existence of two unchangeable sexes β€” stripping government websites of "gender ideology" an reinstituting a ban on transgender service members in the...
