    LOS ANGELES --

The Guild of Music Supervisors (GMS) has unveiled the nominees of their 13th Annual Guild of Music Supervisors Awards.  The winners will be revealed at an in-person and virtual awards gala at The Wiltern Theatre in Los Angeles on Sunday, March 5.  The awards stand to celebrate outstanding achievement in the craft of music supervision in film, television, video games, documentaries, advertising, and trailers.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and Elvis lead this year’s contenders earning three nominations each across Best Music Supervision for Film Budgeted Over $25 Million, Best Song Written and/or Recorded for a Film, and Best Music Supervision in a Trailer–Film.  The song nominations also include artists Rihanna and Doja Cat as nominees for their roles as performers.  Other songwriters recognized with nominations include Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift, Diana Ross, David Byrne, and Ruth B.

This will be the first in-person awards since their sold-out show in 2020 at the Wiltern Theatre.  For the first time this year, video game composers are nominated alongside music supervisors in a new category.  2022’s Emmy-winning music supervisor Nora Felder is recognized for her work on Stranger Things.  New categories have been added to the ceremony totaling 19 awards to be handed out the evening of the event.  Those categories are Best Music Supervision For A Non-Theatrically Released Film, Best Music Supervision For A Video Game–Original, Best Music Supervision For A Trailer–Series, Best Music Supervision For A Trailer–Video Game & Interactive, and Best Music Supervision In Advertising: $500K Total Production & Post-Production Budget.

Still to be announced is the GMS Icon Award and Legacy Award bestowing recognition to an artist and a music supervisor whose role in the industry reaches excellence.

Rob Reiner Mourned By Barack Obama, Jerry O’Connell, James Woods, Joe Russo and Many Others

    Monday, December 15, 2025

Reactions to the death of actor-director Rob Reiner, who was found dead with his wife Michele Reiner at their home in Los Angeles on Sunday. The acclaimed director and Emmy winner was also a major Democratic booster, leading many prominent politicians to share tributes.

Here's a look at some notable reactions to Reiner's death:

    Barack Obama
"Rob's achievements in film and television gave us some of our most cherished stories on screen. But beneath all of the stories he produced was a deep belief in the goodness of people—and a lifelong commitment to putting that belief into action." — On X.

    Jerry O'Connell
"Love you, Rob." — On Instagram with a photo of him and Reiner on the set of "Stand By Me."

    Actor Josh Gad
"He was one of the greatest directors of our time. He was a friend. He was simply a beautiful person. Rob Reiner and his wife Michelle were two of the most kind and caring souls you could ever imagine." — On Instagram.

    Gavin Newsom
"Rob was the big-hearted genius behind so many of the classic stories we love, with projects as wide-ranging as The Princess Bride to A Few Good Men. His boundless empathy made his stories timeless, teaching generations how to see goodness and righteousness in others — and encouraging us to dream bigger. That empathy extended well beyond his films." — In a statement.

    James Woods
"Rob and I remained good friends ever since we made GHOSTS OF MISSISSIPPI. The studio didn't think I was old enough to do the part, but Rob fought for me. Political differences never stood in the way of our love and respect for each other. I am devastated by this terrible event." — On... Read More
