DAVID’s Creative Duo Rog & Pretto Returns To Lead The São Paulo Office As CCOs

    SAO PAULO --

Rogério Chaves and Fabrício Pretto, who were part of DAVID from 2018 to 2025, are returning to the agency, now as chief creative officers (CCOs). They come back at the invitation of Sylvia Panico, global chief operating officer (COO), with whom they will lead the agency’s office in Brazil.

Known in the industry as Rog & Pretto, the creatives have built one of the most notable creative careers in Brazilian advertising. They have worked together for around 13 years and, during their first chapter at DAVID, held nearly every position within the creative department: copywriter and art director, associate creative directors, creative directors and executive creative directors.

Over those seven years, they created memorable campaigns for Burger King, Mondelez, Coca-Cola, Netflix and Corona, among other brands. Now, they return to take on the only creative leadership role they had yet to hold at the agency.

In addition to earning numerous international awards, Rog & Pretto are known for creating campaigns that go beyond advertising and become part of popular culture. Among their most iconic works are “Burger Glitch,” created for Burger King in 2022 and one of the most awarded campaigns in the brand’s history; “Morumbis,” developed for BIS (Mondelez) the following year; as well as other hits including “Calvo Drive-Thru” for Burger King and “Will Smith Sem Legendas” for Nomad (a local bank).

“The greatest strength of an agency is its people. It’s always great when top talent comes home. It says a lot about our culture. Rog and Pretto believe in the way we work, and we’re very happy to have them back,” said Panico.

“This is a very special homecoming. We grew as leaders within DAVID’s culture and helped shape and evolve that culture every day for seven years,” related Chaves

“What we love about this business comes down to one thing: the idea. And DAVID has always put the idea first. Coming back to work with friends like Sylvia, Pancho Cassis [partner & global CCO] and Fernando Musa [founder, partner & chairman] makes us pretty sure this second season is going to be a good one,” said Pretto

“Beyond their unquestionable talent, Rog and Pretto bring an energy and sense of humor to DAVID that make a real difference in the agency’s day-to-day,” said Musa.

“Rog and Pretto’s presence is contagious, and ultimately that shows in the work, which gets even better when they’re around,” added Cassis.

Duane “Keffe D” Davis’ Murder Trial Heads To Closing In Tupac Shakur’s 1996 Killing

    Friday, August 28, 2026

The murder trial of Duane "Keffe D" Davis in the 1996 killing of Tupac Shakur is headed to closing arguments after the defense rested Thursday following testimony from three former Las Vegas police officers.

Jurors are scheduled to return Monday for closing arguments before beginning deliberations in the only prosecution brought in the killing of the hip-hop icon. The presentation of evidence ended after nine days of testimony.

Davis, 63, did not take the stand.

Shakur was riding in a BMW on Sept. 7, 1996, when a white Cadillac pulled up next to it at a red light near the Las Vegas Strip and gunfire erupted. Shakur was shot multiple times and died six days later. The driver of the BMW, Marion "Suge" Knight, survived.

Years later, Davis would say he procured the gun and his nephew, who has since died, fired the shots. Prosecutors say Davis orchestrated the killing, and he faces life in prison if convicted of murder with a deadly weapon with the intent to promote, further or assist a criminal gang. He has pleaded not guilty.

Defense attorney Michael Sanft has argued that Davis fabricated or embellished his accounts of the killing for money and notoriety and that investigators failed to independently corroborate his claims.

Retired Las Vegas homicide detective Dan Long, the defense's final witness, testified that he tried unsuccessfully to verify several details Davis provided during a 2009 police interview.

Davis told Long that his nephew, Orlando "Baby Lane" Anderson, had gone to a Las Vegas hospital after being beaten by Shakur and others in a casino brawl hours before the rapper was fatally shot. Long said he was unable to find hospital records confirming Anderson was treated there.

    Long also tried... Read More
