Director Eric Andre Joins Los Films For U.S. Commercial Representation

    Eric Andre
    LOS ANGELES --

Los Films, the film discipline of the creative studio Los York, has signed Emmy Award winner Eric Andre for commercial representation in the U.S. The creator of the popular and provocative late-night comedy series The Eric Andre Show on Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim, Andre has been leading a double life honing his craft behind the camera as a successful commercial director, recently shooting ad campaigns for Sprite, Veloz and Nike, among others. In front of the camera he has starred in nationally aired TV ad campaigns for brands such as Miller Lite, Verizon and Drumstick’s Super Bowl 2024 TV Spot, “Doctor on the Plane.”

Andre was previously on the commercial director roster of RSA and moved over to his new roost after developing a strong rapport with Los Films’ head of films Chris Abitbol. The two met while successfully landing a campaign with Wieden + Kennedy for Nike’s launch of the first-ever female-specific basketball shoe, and instantly hit it off.

“Chris is my dream man,” said Andre. “He’s the auntie you never had, making matzo ball soup when you’re sick. Seriously, he’s professional, easy to work with, has your back, works hard, comes to the job early and leaves late. He calls everybody by their name. He hangs up his clothes by the end of the day.”

Andre added: “I’m looking forward to working with Los Films on brands that take creative liberties: energy drinks, sports, lifestyle, candies like Skittles, whoever pushes boundaries creatively. Also, I’m hoping to continue working for brands on both sides of the camera. That’s about all I have to say. I only speak in emojis now.”

“Eric is next-gen, leading the new wave of creators who are also now directing commercials,” said Abitbol. “He just comes in and righteously blows your mind. From the content man on the street joker to shooting straight-up brand campaigns that stand out, Eric has the chutzpah to make things happen, bring people together and (duh) make them laugh. That’s exactly what Los Films is about–championing a disruptive, DIY spirit that refuses to play by outdated industry rules. We’re here to push boundaries, to make work that feels alive, and Eric fits into that perfectly. He’s not just a comedian or a director–he’s proof that the future belongs to those who create on their own terms.”

Andre is a multi-hyphenate talent who does stand-up comedy, acting, directing, writing, producing and music. Having just celebrated its sixth season on Adult Swim, his show is notoriously known for its wild pranks, shock humor, sketches and celeb interviews, with guests including Jon Hamm, Natasha Lyonne, Aubrey Peeples, Seth Rogan, Killer Mike, Demi Lovato, Stormy Daniels and Jimmy Kimmel. Andre’s credits also include recurring roles on FXX comedy series Man Seeking Woman and HBO’s The Righteous Gemstones. He created and starred in the Netflix prank comedy Bad Trip and voiced Azizi in Jon Favreau’s remake of The Lion King. He appeared as a judge on ABC’s reality comedy series, The Prank Panel with Johnny Knoxville and Gabourey Sidibe. Andre has a musical side project performing under the name Blarf, holds a Bachelor of Music Degree from Berklee College of Music and plays the double-bass.

Andre’s aforementioned primetime Emmy win came last year for The Eric Andre Show as Outstanding Performer in a Short Form Comedy or Drama Series.

Andre and Los Films’ entire roster of directors is represented on the East and West Coasts by Simpatico, in the Midwest by SG+P Reps, and for multicultural work by Momentum.

Eddie Murphy took a moment to look out at the star-studded room at the American Film Institute ceremony — at his family, his peers, the people who have shared his journey — and let it all sink in. "Seeing all of my family, all my kids, my beautiful wife, and seeing all the different people I worked with, I'm just really filled up," said Murphy, who received the life achievement award at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on Saturday night. "This is a special moment. I wish y'all could feel what I'm feeling, see what I'm seeing. I almost teared up. I'm going to get backstage and cry." Just before accepting the award, Murphy was met with a standing ovation, stepping onstage and moving through the ballroom as the applause followed. Along the way, he passed Spike Lee, Martin Lawrence, Dave Chappelle, Chris Rock, Arsenio Hall and Judge Reinhold. The tribute, which also featured appearances from Bill Burr, Kevin Hart, Eva Longoria, Da'Vine Joy Randolph and Kenan Thompson, will premiere as a special on Netflix on May 31. Murphy, 65, has moved from a teenage stand-up sensation to a breakout force on "Saturday Night Live" to a box office mainstay with films like "Beverly Hills Cop," "Coming to America," "The Nutty Professor" and the "Shrek" franchise. Large images from those defining moments filled the venue stage, tracing a career that has crossed stand-up, television and film. "Eddie made us laugh and made our nation feel better," said Lee, who presented the award to Murphy. "I took a camera and told stories on how our nation could be better. … We both pushed culture forward. ... Every step of this journey, Eddie has been true to himself." Comedians pointed to Murphy's influence across generations. "There is no us without you," Rock... Read More
