    Greg Hackett
    LOS ANGELES --

Park Pictures has signed director Greg Hackett for representation in the U.S. and U.K.

Hackett initially rose to prominence with Experiments in Speed, which chronicled a friend’s attempt to cycle at 100 miles per hour behind an old Ford Zephyr. Hackett first found filmmaking through his previous career as a band frontman, which took him around the world. This global experience, paired with his instinctive artistry, has shaped Hackett’s cinematic style into one that’s naturalistic and detailed, with striking visuals and a musicality that’s cinematic.

Following the viral success of Experiments in Speed, Hackett joined The New York Times Brand Studio, where he directed over 30 branded films, including The Longest Night for Philips, tracing the story of Icelandic fisherman Páll Pálsson. Hackett’s documentary-film origins have translated into his scripted work, revealing stylized slice-of-life scenes that move every story forward.

His work in branded films and commercials has deepened while simultaneously directing music videos, such as “Hate” for Loyle Carner, and original documentaries like Tam Tam – Outside The Lines, which won Hackett a Cannes YDA Silver Screen. Other credits for Hackett–who was most recently with Furlined for U.S. commercial representation prior to joining Park Pictures–include spots for Vodafone, The Royal Navy, RONA, Car Pass, Sony, Modelo, and Adidas. For the latter brand, “Hey Jude” garnered Hackett a Frank Budgen Award nomination for Best Director at the British Arrows, Gold for Best Director at the Creative Circles, Gold for Best Direction at the Clios, and further golds at Cannes, D&AD, One Show, and more.

“I’ve spent my career trying to make work that makes you feel something real,” remarked Hackett on signing. “As I now concentrate on the stories I want to tell, I wanted a home that could hold that ambition, and Park has been making exactly the kind of work I aspire to: cinematic, human, impactful. Their directors are some of those I’ve looked up to since I started out, and Jackie [Kelman Bisbee, Park co-founder and EP] and Lance [director and cinematographer Acord, co-founder of Park] are masters of their craft. I couldn’t be more proud and excited to join them. I’m ready for what comes next.”

Fran Thompson, managing director and executive producer of Park Pictures London, added, “I’ve been a fan of Greg’s for a while now. His sensibilities as a director are unmatched, and his unique branded filmmaking experience from his documentary and narrative work makes his commercial work so rich. He’s a very welcome addition to the Park Pictures family.”

From YouTube To Disney+: Preschool Hit “Gracie’s Corner” Lands Streaming and Development Deal

    Thursday, June 11, 2026

When Javoris Hollingsworth looked over his children's shoulders during the pandemic, he noticed something missing from the educational videos keeping them occupied: Black characters who reflected families like his own.

"Did you realize that none of the characters look like our children?" he asked his wife, Arlene Gordon-Hollingsworth.

Instead of simply pointing out the problem, the couple set out to change it. That observation eventually led to "Gracie's Corner," the educational music series inspired by their daughter Graceyn Hollingsworth that has attracted more than 6.3 million YouTube subscribers and nearly 10 billion views.

Now, "Gracie's Corner" is headed to Disney+.

Disney announced Thursday that it has acquired the global streaming rights to the popular preschool series and will develop new original content with the Hollingsworth family. The deal includes global linear and streaming rights to more than 120 shorts and 18 themed compilations from the existing series.

Graceyn, 13, said she was "really ecstatic" when she learned Disney would become part of the show's next chapter.

"Disney, Disney. The one that makes all the princess movies and everything," she recalled thinking. "It was really surprising."

When will "Gracie's Corner" premiere on Disney+?
"Gracie's Corner" will debut Monday on Disney+ in the United States and select international markets, with 68 shorts and seven compilations available at launch. Additional shorts and compilations will roll out globally through 2026.

The acquisition adds "Gracie's Corner" to Disney Jr.'s preschool lineup, which includes "Bluey," "Marvel's Spidey and his Amazing Friends," "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse," "SuperKitties" and the recently... Read More
