    LONDON --

Droga5 London, part of Accenture Song, has promoted Dan Roberts and Matteo Alabiso to co-creative directors of design, underscoring the agency’s commitment to placing design at the center of its creative practice.

In their new roles, Roberts and Alabiso will lead the studio’s design vision and output, reporting directly to chief creative officer Tara Ford, who joined the London office earlier this year from her role as CCO of Droga5 Australia and New Zealand, and CCO across Accenture Song in Asia-Pacific.

Previously design directors at the agency, Roberts and Alabiso will now partner to shape Droga5 London’s design culture and capabilities, ensuring design is integrated seamlessly across campaigns and experiences.

Roberts brings nearly 20 years of design and creative leadership to the role. Since joining Droga5 in October 2023, he has built on an award-winning career that includes his tenure at Made Thought, where he partnered with clients such as Design Miami, NFW, and Transcendental Meditation. He has also led campaigns for Tom Ford, Calvin Klein, Red Bull Racing, and Puma, among others, working with agencies such as Grey, Impero, Neighbour, and Spring Studios.

Alabiso has been an integral part of Droga5 London for over seven years, shaping and elevating Droga5’s design offering to help it become one of the leading design studios in the country. He brings more than a decade of experience working with global brands like Amazon, Coca-Cola, Maserati, McLaren, and Philips, and category-shaping projects like Coal Drops Yard. His work has been exhibited internationally and honored at top industry award competitions.

“Dan and Matteo are exceptional creative leaders whose work embodies the craft, intelligence, and ambition that define Droga5,” said CCO Ford. “Their appointment reflects our drive to push the boundaries of design as a core discipline, alongside storytelling and technology. Their leadership will help shape a new era for Droga5, where design delivers not only beauty and craft, but real business impact.

Roberts commented: “Droga5 London has always been defined by its design output, and Matteo and I have worked tirelessly to place design at the heart of how we think and create. Design should never be an afterthought–it’s fundamental to how we build iconic work–and we’re excited to keep evolving that vision together, pushing beyond traditional advertising and identity.”

Alabiso added, “Being a veteran Drogan, I’ve seen this agency through many different lenses. Over the years, design has become more relevant and deeply embedded in the creative process than ever before, and I’m proud to have played a role in shaping that journey here.

“Our appointment as creative directors of design marks another step toward a more integrated design offering. Today, brands are experienced in countless ways, and advertising is just one of the many ways consumers engage with them. Our ambition is to craft consistent, meaningful communication for brands across every touchpoint.”

Writer-Director Ian Tuason Deploys Sound To Scare You In Minimalist Horror “Undertone”

Alfred Hitchcock famously claimed he didn't watch his films in theaters. When asked if he missed out on hearing the audience scream, he said, "No. I can hear them scream when I'm making the picture." While writer-director Ian Tuason, the mind behind the buzzy new auditory horror "Undertone," reveres and references Hitchcock as much as the next horror filmmaker, he has to disagree with him on this one. For Tuason, the real screams are the point. "My favorite thing about this whole process is just watching it with audiences. I think that's probably why I wanted to make a horror film … just to kind of witness the reactions," Tuason said in a recent interview. "The same way as when you tell a ghost story at a campfire, it doesn't feel that great unless you see your friend scared." His debut film "Undertone," which opens in theaters on Friday (yes, the 13th), is already doing just that. After playing at the Sundance Film Festival, it had some calling it the "scariest movie you'll ever hear." "Undertone" is a minimalist horror, set in one location, with essentially one character. Evy (Nina Kiri) is a paranormal podcaster who is taking care of her dying, comatose mother upstairs. She's the skeptic of the podcast, which she does with a remote co-host (Adam DiMarco) in the middle of the night. Nothing can scare her, but this new investigation, in which they try to decode a series of unnerving audio files sent anonymously, has rattled her. Why sound is so scary Tuason always dreamed of being a filmmaker, but he began his career in virtual reality and made a name for himself as an early proponent of immersive 3D sound for his cinematic horror shorts, which have been viewed millions of times. Soundscapes became his calling card. So, when he sat... Read More
