Amazon series Fleabag dominated the Television Critics Association (TCA) Awards proceedings on Saturday night (8/3), winning three honors: Program of the Year, Outstanding Achievement in Comedy, and Individual Achievement in Comedy for series creator/EP/writer/actor Phoebe Waller-Bridge.

The Fleabag series is adapted from a lauded play about a young woman (Waller-Bridge in the title role) trying to cope with life in London while coming to terms with a recent tragedy. The TCA recognition continues a stellar awards season for Fleabag which recently picked up 11 Emmy nominations.

Among other prime TCA Award winners were Russian Doll (Netflix) as Outstanding New Program, Better Call Saul (AMC) for Outstanding Achievement in Drama, Chernobyl (HBO) for Outstanding Achievement in Movie or Miniseries, and Leaving Neverland (HBO) for Outstanding Achievement in News and Information.

In terms of special honors, the TCA selected the groundbreaking Western series Deadwood as the recipient of the Heritage Award. Additionally, series creator David Milch was presented with the TCA Career Achievement honor. Blending factual diary entries and newspaper articles with a dose of creativity and imagination, Deadwood redefined the Western genre on television for a modern audience. On the strength of expert writing and painstaking attention to detail from Milch, and fueled by a talented ensemble featuring Ian McShane, Timothy Olyphant, Molly Parker, Brad Dourif, Powers Boothe, Paula Malcomson, Gerald McRaney, John Hawkes, Kim Dickens and others, the series brought the legendary town of Deadwood, South Dakota, to stunning life as it welcomed viewers into a fully formed world populated by heroes, villains, and larger-than-life historical figures such as Calamity Jane, Wild Bill Hickok, Wyatt Earp, George Hearst, and E.B. Farnum. During its three seasons, the series won eight Emmy® Awards and one Golden Globe, amassing a large and loyal fanbase whose continued passion for the program was instrumental in the creation of Deadwood: The Movie, which premiered to much fanfare this May.

The 35th Annual TCA Awards ceremony was emceed by the comedy duo Desus & Mero.

Filmmaker Rob Chiu Joins Golden LA For U.S. Commercial Representation

    Tuesday, November 18, 2025

Production company Golden LA has signed filmmaker Rob Chiu for U.S. commercial representation. A London-based director and photographer, Chiu over the years has collaborated with brands such as Audi, Nike, BMW, and Adidas, and partnered with agencies including Team One, McCann, Saatchi and Wieden + Kennedy. Most recently represented in the U.S. by Iconoclast (which still reps him in the U.K.), Chiu continues to evolve his craft through projects that balance cinematic world-building with deeply human storytelling. “My work has always circled around the fragile, complicated parts of being human.” Chiu shared, “Golden is a home that encourages that kind of exploration, and I’m grateful for the space to keep pushing into stories that feel personal and lived-in.” “Rob’s work evokes an immediate, visceral response— emotional storytelling through the lens of a master craftsman,” said Golden LA executive producer Dahlia Stone. “He has an extraordinary ability to merge discipline with depth. Every project of his feels lived-in, poetic, and deliberate, which aligns perfectly with Golden’s vision of championing directors who evoke real feeling in their viewers.” Golden LA managing director Matthew Marquis added, “This partnership reflects how we love to collaborate: intentionally and with respect for the process. Rob approaches filmmaking with intensity and empathy in equal measure, and we’re thrilled to support the next evolution of his already exceptional career. Also in getting to know Rob over the last few years, he is an artist to his core and that permeates every aspect of the filmic creative process” Chiu’s work has garnered recognition from D&AD, Nowness, 1.4, and FWA and has been showcased at film festivals across the...
