Grammy-Nominated Director Savanah Leaf Signs With Park Pictures

    Savanah Leaf
    NEW YORK --

Bicoastal production company Park Pictures has signed Grammy-nominated director Savanah Leaf for U.S. representation. Leaf’s experience as a 2012 Olympian volleyball athlete lends unique insight which she has applied to successful directorial collaborations with Nike, Adidas, and Fila, among others.

Her work with musicians and artists including Gary Clark Jr, Common, and Marvin Gaye received critical acclaim, with her film for Gary Clark Jr titled “This Land” nominated for a 2020 Grammy. Her most recent music video–the first of Universal Music’s “Never Made” series for great songs that never had a music video–is for Marvin Gaye’s 1971 classic “What’s Going On.”  By focusing on current racial and social struggles in the U.S., the film highlights the continuing relevance of Gaye’s question nearly 50 years later.

Last year, Leaf earned a slot in The One Club for Creativity’s Young Guns 17 competition, designed to identify today’s vanguard of young creative talent. At the time she was at Doomsday Entertainment, her company affiliation prior to joining Park Pictures.

In 2018, Leaf released her short film The Ayes Have It, where she visually imagines Tiana Clark’s poem. The film is a response to the murders of Emmett Till and Trayvon Martin–both young, black men in America who were murdered almost 60 years apart in similar circumstances.

Leaf is currently gearing up to release a personal documentary titled The Heart Still Hums, a film about adoption and her close relationship with her younger sister.

Park Pictures executive producer Jackie Kelman Bisbee assessed, “Savanah Leaf is a fresh and powerful voice in the world of storytelling. From her evocative and poignant music videos to her beautifully crafted and socially impactful short films, Savanah’s work is infused with humanity and hope.”

In Legal Dispute Over “The View,” ABC Accuses Trump Administration Of Trying To Chill Free Speech

    Friday, May 8, 2026

In a strongly worded filing, ABC accuses the Trump administration of trying to chill its constitutionally protected free speech and hinder open political discussion.

The point of contention: The popular show "The View," and whether it's subject to equal time rules.

ABC's filing to the Federal Communications Commission, made public Friday, came in a dispute involving one ABC station in Houston, KTRK-TV. But the wording indicated the network was embarking on a broader battle with the administration.

"The Commission's actions threaten to upend decades of settled law and practice and chill critical protected speech, both with respect to 'The View' and more broadly," said the filing on behalf of both KTRK-TV and ABC.

The commission replied, in a statement emailed to The Associated Press, that equal time law "encourages more speech and empowers voters to decide the outcome of elections. The FCC will review Disney's assertion that 'The View' is a 'bona fide news program' and thus exempt from the political equal time rules."

The ABC filing appeared to be the latest volley inside and outside the legal arena between the U.S. media and the Trump White House over what journalists perceive as the president's attack on free speech and the media's ability to do its job. Trump has been critical of media outlets whose journalism runs counter to his agenda and sensibilities.

Among legal battles in the courts: a dispute between the Pentagon and The New York Times over access; a battle between the White House and The Associated Press over how to refer to the Gulf of Mexico; and Trump's anger at The Wall Street Journal over reporting about Jeffrey Epstein.

The dispute concerns content on "The View," ABC's long-running morning talk show,... Read More
