    NEW YORK --

MPC New York has added two new senior-level talents: Kathrin Lausch as head of new business development and Nick Haynes as VFX executive producer.

Lausch was most recently EP at the New York office of Ntropic. She brings two decades of experience as an EP to her new position at MPC, having worked with a roster of production and post companies that includes B-Reel Films, Partizan Entertainment and Compass Films. A native of Germany with advanced degrees in law and marketing, Lausch has owned and managed her own companies as well as run multinational production projects for advertising and entertainment clients during her career.

Haynes has deep roots in the New York postproduction and VFX arena, having moved to the city from London in 2002 to help launch the first U.S. office of The Mill. In his 10 years with the company he held a range of production and management positions that corresponded with its growth and expansion. After leaving The Mill he joined Absolute Post as general manager and EP, where he helped build its New York office and supervised sales, VFX, motion graphic and design work.

“I’ve known Kathrin for some time and felt she’d be a perfect fit with how what we’re doing here at MPC,” said Justin Brukman, managing director of MPC’s New York office. “Her experience, insight and contacts are unparalleled, and we’re confident she’s going to build our brand relationships across the board. And bringing on an EP of Nick’s stature to work with executive producer Camila De Biaggi ensures that we’ll continue to grow our core visual effects capabilities while we expand into areas like VR, AR, client direct and live action production.”

Lausch related, “MPC is a global powerhouse when it comes to visual effects, but the expansion that’s taking place here in New York has truly transformed this studio into a broad-based creative and production resource for clients and brands. Between our growing capabilities in VR and AR as well as in live action production via MPC Creative – on top of credentials in color, effects and design – we’re uniquely positioned to help advertisers realize their visions. It’s a great opportunity, and I’m delighted to be able to add this new client-direct dimension to our business.”

Haynes added, “Our New York office is really an advertising hub, and the roster of agencies we’re serving just continues to grow. I’m thrilled to be able to join the artists, designers and producers here as we continue to expand that agency list and provide them with some of the best visual effects work in the industry, backed by the global support and technology pipeline that defines MPC.”

These new signings come on the heels of other major hires at MPC’s New York studio, including EP Dani Zeitlin, who joined recently from Crew Cuts to lead its color grading work, and sr. producers Elissa Norman and Brendan Khan.

Visual Effects Society Launches VFX Women Who Lead Initiative

    Friday, April 10, 2026

The Visual Effects Society (VES) has launched its new VFX Women Who Lead initiative. This new global effort will aim to ensure that every woman in the visual effects industry, at any point in her career, has the support, visibility, access, and resources to succeed. The initiative is led by a committee of female VFX leaders from across the VES, spearheaded by chair Neishaw Ali, the founding partner, CEO, and executive producer of SPINVFX and a former member of the global VES Board of Directors.

"I know firsthand how vital this kind of program is because I've lived the gaps it's trying to close. I'm so proud that the VES is creating a platform for all industry leaders who want to 'give back' and help shape a more inspiring future for women. Together, I'm confident that we will drive meaningful change, create hope, and foster growth in the years ahead,” shared Ali.

VFX Women Who Lead will inspire change year-round through several paths, including a peer mentorship program, and resources such as a “Careers in VFX” video series, a newsletter compiling industry news and opportunities, social media spotlights, and much more. Most notably, the committee will host its inaugural VFX Women Who Lead Summit--an international gathering of industry leaders to share stories, build community, and define what equitable leadership looks like. This event will be held in fall 2026 in Los Angeles, with details to be announced.
