London Alley has signed director Boni Mata to its roster for worldwide representation spanning commercials, branded content and music videos. London Alley, which is part of the VICE Media family, becomes the first production company to handle Mata for spots and branded content globally.
A Clio Award-winning Spanish-American writer and director based in New York, Mata has a body of work which encompasses commercials, music videos, short films and short form television series. She has also written several feature scripts. At London Alley, Mata recently directed the “Illuminate” music video from Jessie Reyez and Elyanna which was part of the official 2026 FIFA World Cup soundtrack, as well as the Milani Cosmetics new brand campaign “What’s Inside is Everything,” reframing beauty through a more intimate lens, imagining a world less focused on exterior beauty and more rooted in confidence and individuality.
“London Alley has a rare ability to make work that promises both cultural immediacy and cinematic innovation,” said Mata. “I’ve already had the chance to make some of my favorite work with them, and there’s a genuine sense of trust in the way the team champions directors and their visions. As an aspiring director making digicam videos for my college housemates, London Alley was one of the first production companies whose name I learned. I am so honored and excited to build on this relationship and continue making lasting art together.”
London Alley executive producer Matthew Kauth said, “Over the past six months, I’ve had the pleasure of working with Boni on several projects. I was blown away by her ability to collaborate with creatives while presenting a clear and strong point of view. She possesses that rare combination of knowing what will hook audiences in the moment while elevating the work to live on beyond the constantly churning cycle of culture. Clients not only love the final product she makes but also the process it takes to make it with her. I couldn’t be more excited to formalize our partnership.”
Mata received a Clio Award in 2021 for her branded doc “Bridge-s” which spotlights Solange Knowles’s performance installation at the Getty Center. She began her career making branded videos in collaboration with GOOD MUSIC and Virgil Abloh, going on to produce and direct branded and commercial content for SAP, Dropbox, Sony, Acne Studios, and more. Throughout her music video career, which spans multiple genres from pop to hip-hop, her work is often characterized by a strong editorial sensibility, bringing a uniquely stylish lens to both performance and narrative videos. She consistently works with top record labels and has produced work for numerous internationally acclaimed artists including Sabrina Carpenter, Tate McRae, Janelle Monae, Pusha T, Demi Lovato, Omar Apollo, and Noah Cyrus. With literary degrees from UC Berkeley and the University of Cambridge, Mata has turned out work that brings a critical edge to feminist themes. Her latest short film Mariposa Traicionera stars Oscar-nominated actress Andrea Riseborough. Mata completed her first feature film in 2024.
