    Motion Picture Sound Editors Unveils Golden Reel Award Nominees

    STUDIO CITY, Calif. --

    The Motion Picture Sound Editors (MPSE) has unveiled the nominees in the 68th Annual MPSE Golden Reel Awards. Nominees represent the work of the world’s most talented sound artists and their contributions to the past year’s most outstanding feature film, television, animation, computer entertainment, and student productions.

    “We’re very excited about this year’s MPSE Golden Reel Awards. It will feature a dynamic, virtual format that will be great fun and allow people from around the world to participate,” said MPSE president Mark Lanza. “We will have presenters from every part of the globe along with many other surprises. Most importantly, this will be an opportunity to celebrate the great sound work that has been done over the past year. I congratulate all of this year’s distinguished nominees.”

    The MPSE Golden Reel Awards recognize outstanding achievement in sound editing in 22 categories encompassing feature films, television, animation, computer entertainment, and student work. This year, the awards ceremony will be held as an international virtual event on Friday, April 16, 2021 at 6:00pm.

    As previously announced, the 2021 MPSE Filmmaker Award will be bestowed upon George Miller. Yet to be revealed is the recipient of the 2021 MPSE Career Achievement Award.

    Independent film companies Autumn Bailey Entertainment (ABE) and Ty Walker’s Braveheart Entertainment are entering into a major production partnership with one of Atlanta’s most advanced and expansive film campuses, Assembly Studios, managed by Universal Production Services.

    The collaboration marks a significant milestone in Georgia’s rapidly evolving film landscape--uniting two leading creative producers known for acclaimed projects such as On a Wing and a Prayer and The First Noelle: The Maynard Jackson Documentary with
    Assembly’s cutting-edge infrastructure to scale independent film and television production across the state.

    Together, the companies aim to build a sustainable model for high-quality, character- driven storytelling that blends artistry, efficiency, and innovation.
