Independent media agency Apollo Partners has appointed Andy Wiedlin as business development leader. In this newly created role, Wiedlin will work exclusively on the Intuit SMB MediaLabs business. He will lead business development and partnerships for Intuit SMB MediaLabs, billed as a first-of-its-kind advertising network focused solely on small businesses that launched last summer with strategic guidance from Apollo Partners. Based in San Francisco, Wiedlin will report to Apollo Partners CEO Eric Perko. Wiedlin brings over three decades’ experience leading and advising fast-growth startups. He earlier served as chief revenue officer at BuzzFeed. Before that, he led sales at AT&T International and Yahoo!, and spent time at Andreessen Horowitz. The Peabody Awards Board of Jurors has announced the nominees for the Arts, Children’s/Youth, Entertainment, and Interactive & Immersive categories selected to represent the most captivating and impactful stories released in broadcasting and streaming media during 2024. The nominees were chosen by a unanimous vote of 27 jurors from over 1,000 entries from television, podcasts/radio and the web in entertainment, news, documentary, arts, children’s/youth, public service, and interactive/immersive programming and media. “Whether a sweeping, cinematic drama, a sharp-witted comedy, a moving children’s program, or an interactive experience, Peabody is dedicated to rewarding resonant stories,” said Jeffrey Jones, executive director of Peabody. “All of our nominees demonstrate thought-provoking storytelling that entertains, enlightens, and leaves an impact on audiences that serves to expand our collective understanding of humanity.” The nominees for Documentary, News, Public Service, and Radio/Podcast categories were announced on April 15.
