Independent sales rep Helen O’Brien has reunited with Bonfire partners Peter Corbett and Jason Mayo as she’s been signed to represent the creative studio in the Midwest markets. For seven years, O’Brien was the Midwest rep for Corbett’s previous studio, Click3X. More recently, she was working with Mayo in his prior position at Chimney before he joined Bonfire last fall as partner and managing director. Bonfire specializes in boutique visual effects, color, design and animation services, provided via its proprietary Bonfire Network remote talent network and by its in-house team of artists, creative directors and producers. The company was founded in 2016 by Flame artist Brendan O’Neil. O’Brien will work closely with Mayo, Corbett and Bonfire’s New York-based director of sales, Clare O’Brien, who’s no relation. Bonfire is the latest addition to Helen O’Brien’s representation roster which includes Storefront Music, Residency Content, Mutt Films, Unicorns&Unicorns, StreetFactory Media and Cultivate Media….

Cinematographers Ronald Richard, CSC and Damian Horan have joined Dattner Dispoto and Associates (DDA) for representation…

Globecast, a Paris-headquartered global solutions provider helping customers with content management and delivery, has moved Denis Genevois and Olivier Zankel into new marketing roles. Genevois, who joined Globecast in 2001, is now VP marketing group and Zankel, who joined Globecast in 2011, is now VP communications group. They will both report to Philippe Bernard, CEO, Globecast, with the two also now sitting on the executive committee. They replace Juliet Walker who has moved to take up a role at parent company Orange Business Services. As VP marketing group, Genevois is now overseeing the defining of service strategies and the way that services work with, or alongside, one another as well reporting sales performance. He is also in charge of defining sales strategies by market and region. Since 2018, Genevois has been in charge of marketing and business development for broadcasters handling international pre-sales activity at Globecast. Zankel has been in charge of global communications and operational marketing since 2018. He is now responsible for defining both internal and external communication strategies, setting strategic directives in terms of visibility and messaging…..

Joachim Trier and Eskil Vogt Find A Home In “Sentimental Value”

    Thursday, January 15, 2026

“Home is where the heart is.” The universality of that time-honored adage is in many respects at the core of Sentimental Value (Neon)--not just as it applies to the story but also as part of the process that went into telling that story. On the former score, director Joachim Trier’s film--which he wrote with long-time friend and colleague Eskil Vogt--is set in an old family home in Oslo that carries memories that help to define two sisters, now adults, and their strained relationship with a father who prioritized his filmmaking career over being a parent. The sisters are Nora (portrayed by Renate Reinsve) and Agnes (Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas). Nora, the older sister, grew up to be an accomplished actor, following in the cinematic/stage career footsteps of her dad, Gustav (Stellan Skarsgård in a Golden Globe-winning performance). After years of absence from Nora and Agnes’ lives, Gustav unexpectedly appears at the time-worn family residence to attend the funeral wake of the daughters’ mother but his prime motive for turning up is a movie that he wants to make in order to fuel his career comeback. And he has Nora in mind to play the lead in the film. She immediately refuses the role, which ends up going to a movie starlet (Elle Fanning). As shooting begins, psychological scars revert to open wounds and the presence of the American celeb forces Gustav, Nora and Agnes to look at themselves and their family’s fragile emotional underpinnings more closely. The family home is a repository of past lives spanning love, loss, alienation, joy, resentment and estrangement--as such, it’s a centerpiece for the characters in Sentimental Value and lends great insight into them. For example, at one point around the middle of the film, we see... Read More
