Rupert Samuel Returns to CP+B As Executive Director of Content Production

    Rupert Samuel
    BOULDER, Colo. --

Rupert Samuel has joined CP+B as executive director of content production. In his new role, he will oversee all production for the four CP+B offices in the U.S. as well as consulting with the agency’s global offices.

A London native, Samuel actually began his career at CP+B. After a memorable internship, he became a key member of the production group that helped rethink how agency production should work.  Together with the creative management of CP+B, he helped develop an entirely new integrated production model, which brought previously unrelated departments together and is now the industry standard for agencies around the world. He was named VP of integrated production at CP+B in 2002, overseeing all forms of campaign production for high profile clients including MINI, AND 1, and Burger King.  During his time at CP+B, he produced numerous Cannes Grand Prix and Titanium award-winning campaigns and worked with A-List directors like Spike Jonze and Wes Anderson.

In 2007 he became one of the founders of a new agency, Goodness Manufacturing which was ultimately acquired by Trailer Park, one of the leading entertainment marketing firms in the country.  There, Samuel evolved and developed an entertainment industry production department of over 150 people spanning broadcast, live action, digital, interactive, motion graphics and non-traditional media to serve brand client needs. His recent focus has been on building extended internal production services for clients.

“CP+B is literally family to me,” said Samuel. “I couldn’t be more excited to be headed back to where it all started and be re-united with the agency and everyone there. To get to work with CP+B, and be a part of their culture that’s now gone global, is an amazing opportunity and I can’t wait to get back and start crushing it in 2015.”

Chuck Porter, chairman of CP+B, recalled, “I met Rupert when he just was finishing film school in London and hired him as an intern. He was one of my favorite people then and he still is. He’s a rare talent, he sees things in ways that others don’t, he’s not afraid to take bold steps and big chances and he never takes no for an answer.  With budgets and timelines continuing to contract, you have to be more inventive and opportunistic than ever to do great work. Those are the exact traits that make Rupert so special.”

Netflix’s Deal To Acquire Warner Bros. Elicits Notable Early Feedback

    Friday, December 5, 2025

Netflix's $72 billion deal to acquire Warner Bros. studio and its film and television operations drew quick reactions Friday. Film and television industry entities including guilds and the lobbying group for movie theater owners criticized the deal, warning it would harm consumers and cinema owners. In announcing the deal, Warner Bros. and Netflix executives touted the deal's benefits. Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav said the deal "will ensure people everywhere will continue to enjoy the world's most resonant stories for generations to come," while Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos said it would "give audiences more of what they love." Here's a roundup of notable early reactions to the deal: Michael O'Leary, CEO of Cinema United "Netflix's stated business model does not support theatrical exhibition. In fact, it is the opposite. Theaters will close, communities will suffer, jobs will be lost." Producers Guild of America "As we navigate dynamic times of economic and technological change, our industry, together with policymakers, must find a way forward that protects producers' livelihoods and real theatrical distribution, and that fosters creativity, promotes opportunities for workers and artists, empowers consumers with choices, and upholds freedom of speech. This is the test that the Netflix deal must pass. Our legacy studios are more than content libraries – within their vaults are the character and culture of our nation." — in a statement. Sen. Roger Marshall, R-Kan. "Netflix's $82 billion attempt to buy Warner Bros. would be the largest media takeover in history — and it raises serious red flags for consumers, creators, movie theaters, and local businesses alike. One company should... Read More
