Independent creative agency SPCSHP has launched its first-ever Impact and Creator offerings. While social and digital have supercharged SPCSHP’s growth since its launch in 2000, this move marks the agency’s first official one in the creator space. Apryl Gordy and Dana Robinson have joined the agency to lead these divisions in their newly created roles as VP, social media and sr. manager, impact, respectively. Gordy will report directly to CEO Ranae Heuer, while Robinson answers to SVP brand & offerings Lizz Behler.
“As we move deeper into SPCSHP’s new era on the heels of our rebrand earlier this year, our team saw the need to develop and formalize two key divisions: Impact and Creator,” said Heuer who added, “We always want to ensure the work we do internally and externally has a positive impact on our industry and community at large, and Apryl will put the right infrastructures in place to ensure we never miss a beat. Meanwhile, Dana will build on SPCSHP’s legacy of social and digital intelligence, keeping the agency’s collective finger on the pulse of the ever-evolving creator landscape.”
After nearly a decade driving DE&I at Huge, Gordy will analyze the impact of SPCSHP on business decisions against the agency’s morals and values. Four pillars–DE&I, crew wellness and well-being, local community engagement, and environmental awareness and sustainability–will serve as foundational guideposts, helping her ensure the agency makes a positive impact internally and externally.
“SPCSHP has a CEO, in addition to the founder and executive chairman, who are honest about where they are and where they want to be in terms of the impact they make on people’s daily lives,” said Gordy. “Seeing not only their willingness to take the right steps to make this an equitable, inclusive, caring, and fun place to work, but also their curiosity to expand their thinking drew me to SPCSHP. I look forward to partnering with leadership to eradicate boxes of the status quo with a team of people who see the value in getting it right when it comes to belonging.”
Joining from cult sneaker marketplace StockX, where she most recently served as VP, integrated marketing, Robinson will develop and activate a plan for SPCSHP’s growing social media practice, while also formalizing its Creator offering. Her decades-long career in content, community, and social media marketing with brands including Turner, Fandango, and NBC Universal will bring a client-oriented, results-driven approach to the agency.
“No one knows social better than SPCSHP. Just look at the agency’s newsletter, Internet Brunch, which has taken on a life and subscriber base of its own across and beyond the industry. As creators become increasingly central to social, I look forward to helping launch SPCSHP’s first formalized offering in the space,” said Robinson.
Concurrently, SPCSHP has appointed two new executives as VP, account: Raphael Bouquillon and Abby Cañeda. The duo will lead marketing strategy, creative development and integrated production and planning in their roles as VP, account. Their work will impact the agency’s roster of clients, which includes PepsiCo., Chase, Mars Petcare, and, most recently, Dairy Queen. Both will report into managing director, Stacey Zimmerman.
Sean “Diddy” Combs Is Arrested In NY After Federal Indictment
Sean "Diddy" Combs, the hip-hop mogul who has faced a stream of allegations by women accusing him of sexual assault, was arrested late Monday in New York after he was indicted by a federal grand jury.
The indictment was sealed and details of the charges weren't immediately announced by prosecutors, but the U.S. attorney in Manhattan, Damian Williams, confirmed in a statement that federal agents had Combs in custody.
"We expect to move to unseal the indictment in the morning and will have more to say at that time," Williams said in a statement.
Combs was arrested in a Manhattan hotel lobby, according to a person familiar with the arrest who spoke with The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak publicly.
His lawyer, Marc Agnifilo, said Combs had been cooperating with the investigation and had relocated to New York last week in anticipation of charges being brought.
"We are disappointed with the decision to pursue what we believe is an unjust prosecution of Mr. Combs by the U.S. Attorney's Office," Agnifilo said, describing his client as a music icon and a "loving family man."
"He is an imperfect person, but he is not a criminal," Agnifilo said in a statement, adding "Please reserve your judgment until you have all the facts. These are the acts of an innocent man with nothing to hide, and he looks forward to clearing his name in court."
The criminal charges are a major but not unexpected takedown of one of the most prominent producers and most famous names in the history of hip-hop.
The federal investigation of Combs, 58, was revealed when Homeland Security Investigations agents served simultaneous search warrants and raided Combs' mansions in Los Angeles and Miami... Read More
