Emerald Fennell has gained her first commercial representation as a director, joining Superprime which will handle her worldwide.
Fennell is a lauded filmmaker, starting with Promising Young Woman which marked her feature directorial debut. She not only directed but also wrote and produced Promising Young Woman, winning the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay. Promising Young Woman additionally garnered Oscar nominations for Best Director and Best Picture. Furthermore, Fennell earned a DGA Award nomination and won BAFTA, Critics Choice and Writers Guild Awards for the film.
Across film, television and literature, Fennell has built a body of work that combines captivating world-building with fearless storytelling, creating films that are at once elegant, unsettling, darkly funny and emotionally charged. Her work explores desire, power and obsession through richly constructed cinematic worlds, where every creative choice serves the emotional experience as much as the narrative itself.
After Promising Young Woman, Fennell wrote, directed and produced Saltburn which became a critical success and cultural phenomenon, celebrated for its bold visual language and uncompromising creative vision. Her latest feature, Wuthering Heights, which she also wrote, directed and produced, further reinforces her reputation for reimagining classic material through an unmistakably contemporary lens.
