    Toronto Film Fest Sets 5 More World Premieres–From Canada, France, India, the U.K. and U.S.

    TORONTO --

    The Toronto International Film Festival, set for September 5-15, has announced five more world premiere titles from internationally acclaimed filmmakers, and which feature stories from Canada, France, India, the U.K. and the U.S.

    The lineup unveiled today consists of: Eden, a survival thriller based on true events about the lengths we will go to in pursuit of a better life, directed by Ron Howard, written by Halifax-born Noah Pink and starring Jude Law, Ana de Armas and Sydney Sweeney; K-POPS, a dramatic comedy that takes inspiration from eight-time Grammy Award winner Anderson .Paak’s own life, bridging family lineages and cultures; Shepherds, an adaptation of the Canadian novel “D’où viens tu, berger?,” which follows a young advertising executive who trades in his Montreal life to become a shepherd in France; Superboys of Malegaon, a film based on the life of Nasir Shaikh, an amateur filmmaker from the town of Malegaon, India, and what happens when filmmaking and friendships collide; and We Live in Time, a highly anticipated romance starring Florence Pugh and Andrew Garfield as a couple whose chance encounter changes their lives as they fall in love, build a home, start a family, and face difficult truths.

    Eden and Superboys of Malegaon are part of TIFF’s Gala program while K-POPS, Shepherds and We Live in Time are in the festival’s Special Presentation program.

    “I’m thrilled to share today’s list of world premiere films, featuring stories from around the world that highlight the scope and breadth of TIFF’s programming,” said Anita Lee, chief programming officer, TIFF. “We have a Canada/France co-production set in the French Alps, directed by a French Canadian auteur; a Seoul-set comedic debut from musician Anderson .Paak; a Bollywood glimpse into the vibrant film industry of Malegaon, India; a London-set love story starring Florence Pugh from an Irish director; and a highly original survival thriller that takes us to the Galapagos Islands from Ron Howard. I can’t wait for TIFF audiences to take these journeys on the big screen and be transported by cinema together this September.”

    More Toronto International Film Festival details will be announced in the coming weeks. Tickets for TIFF ’24 go on sale to TIFF members by level beginning on Friday, August 16. The full festival schedule will be released on Tuesday, August 13.

    FCB New York Leads The One Show 2025 Tally With 35 Gold Pencils

    FCB New York led the list of winners from 55 countries in The One Show 2025, taking home 35 Gold Pencils.

    Announcement of Pencil and Merit winners was made in advance of tomorrow night’s conclusion of Creative Week 2025 at The One Show 2025 gala awards ceremony in New York hosted by comedian and actor Leslie Jones, where Best of Show, Best of Discipline, special awards, and “of the Year” honors will be unveiled.

    FCB New York’s wins includes 28 One Show Gold Pencils for “Spreadbeats” on behalf of Spotify. They include five each in Design and Interactive, Online & Mobile, three in Direct Marketing, two each in Branded Entertainment, Creative Use of Data, Experiential & Immersive, Moving Image Craft & Production, Music & Sound Craft, and Public Relations, and one each in Creative Use of Technology, Film & Video, and Radio & Audio-First.

    “Spreadbeats” was also the most awarded entry at The One Show 2025, winning 28 Gold Pencils, 10 Silver, five Bronze, and 10 Merits.

    The remaining seven Golds won by FCB New York were all for AB InBev--Michelob ULTRA’s “Lap of Legends”, consisting of three in Creative Use of Technology, and one each in Branded Entertainment, Creative Use of Data, Experiential & Immersive, and Interactive, Online & Mobile.

    Circus Grey Peru Lima, working with Apoyo Comunicación Peru Lima, LLYC Lima and DINAMO Lima, was awarded nine One Show Gold Pencils, all for “Sightwalks” on behalf of UNACEM - Cemento Sol, including three each in Health & Wellness and Out of Home, and one each in Design, IP & Product Design, and Cultural Driver.

    Three agencies were tied with six Gold Pencils each.
