    LOS ANGELES --

Music Forever, the music/sound design studio founded by composer Anthony Marinelli, has brought Josh Reynolds on board as executive producer.

Reynolds is well known for his long tenure on the ad agency side of the business which includes his serving as EP at Borders, Perrin & Norrander in Portland, Ore., JWT San Francisco, and Goodby Silverstein & Partners, and executive content producer at Translation. He also was EP at Nike Film & Video, and freelanced as an EP at such shops as Anomaly and Ogilvy & Mather. Most recently, Reynolds had been president of Manifesto before being approached by Marinelli to join Music Forever.

Reynolds and Marinelli have collaborated previously as agency producer and composer, respectively. They teamed on work for US Bank, Butterfinger, Baby Ruth, Lion Bar, Red Lion, Sprint and Portland General Electric. For the latter, Reynolds and Marinelli helped turn out a spot featuring Frank Zappa which went on to win a Cannes Silver Lion.

Marinelli said of his new EP, “What better resource for an agency than having a music producer who has been in their shoes, with the same priorities.”

Additionally Reynolds has music in his DNA. He is the son of Nick Reynolds, a founder of the Kingston Trio, a band credited for reviving folk music and in 1960 ranked the #1 group in the world. His parents named him after Josh White, a trailblazing black country bluesman, responsible in the ‘30s and ‘40s for bringing folk-blues into the mainstream.

Now at Music Forever, Reynolds will expand the company’s commercial and film music production, highlight Marinelli’s Score Catalog, with over 31 hours of licensable music (used for the soon to be released doc film, River of Gold) and to foster additional artist collaborations, like Marinelli’s recent work with Asdru Sierra, three-time Grammy winner and founding member of Ozomatli.

In addition to wrapping up a new Jaguar campaign for agency Spark 44, Marinelli has recently finished compositions for the documentary film Midnight Return (a 2016 Cannes selection), the feature film Love Kills, and a commissioned orchestral work to kick off Northwestern University’s campus events.

Reynolds related, “Anthony is a rare creative person that has an innate ability to clearly communicate with musicians, creative directors and has been entrusted to speak directly to advertising clients. The best thing about working with Anthony is that he manages to remove the mystery from the music process. He’s mastered the process by going on location with his mobile composer rig, heightening both collaboration and creativity.”

Reynolds will also collaborate with Music Forever engineer/mixer Beau Bonetti. During his time at the company, Bonetti has worked with Marinelli on music for 20 feature films, more than 60 commercial campaigns, nine albums, and many other live and online projects. A graduate of USC’s Thornton School of Music, Bonetti has worked in various capacities at Music Forever–from assistant engineer, composer’s assistant, and music coordinator to sound designer, music editor, and engineer/mixer.

Among Marinelli’s most notable credits over the years are iconic spots for Apple, the memorable Partnership for a Drug-Free America PSA “This is Your Brain on Drugs, Super Bowl ads for Budweiser and Accenture, work for Shell (nine years of mnemonic branding), Mercedes-Benz, Fancy Feast and Boeing. He’s composed classic Disney jingles, logos for Paramount and Morgan Creek, along with original music for over 70 feature films including Young Guns, 2 Days in the Valley, Planes Trains and Automobiles and Leaving Las Vegas. He’s arranged and performed for the Olympic opening ceremonies, the FIFA World Cup and Super Bowl XXVII’s halftime show. He’s played keyboards on records with James Brown, Lionel Richie, Chuck D, Afrika Bambaataa, and Michael Jackson’s mega hit album “Thriller.” Also, Marinelli and Amrita Sen co-created an entertainment venture–which they've maintained for the past several years–called BollyDoll Entertainment that expands an existing retail brand through their original songs, live dance shows, and animation.
