Ceremony pays tribute to editor Christopher Park who passed away last month

    LOS ANGELES --

Hollywood celebrated the best in motion picture marketing and a big win for female directors and female driven films at the 18th Annual Golden Trailer Awards on Tuesday night (6/6) at the Saban Theater.  More than 1,000 studio marketing executives, movie fans, celebrities and trailer editors were on hand as Open Road Entertainment and AV Squad’s work for Warner Bros. Wonder Woman trailer titled “What She Is” won the Best of Show Prize and the top honor for Best Fantasy/ Adventure Trailer.

While the Golden Trailer Awards bestows trophies in 115 different categories (full list below), only 17 of the top honors were handed out live before a sold-out crowd. To view a selection of the winning trailers, click here.

Warner Bros. (including HBO and New Line Cinema) was the big winner of the night, taking home 26 Golden Trailer Awards overall. FOX (including 20th Century, Searchlight, FX, and FXX) won a total of 15 statues, while Disney, and Netflix each took home 7, and Universal, Sony (including Screen Gems) and Lionsgate each earned 6.

Best trailer vendors for 2017 included Mark Woollen & Associates who earned 10 trophies, AV Squad who took home 8, Trailer Park and Concept Arts both won 6 GTA’s, and  Buddha Jones and Create Advertising took home 5 trophies apiece.  Top Creative Agency LA was awarded 8 Golden Trailer Awards for its trailer and poster campaigns.

The Lego Batman Movie was the top GTA winner of the night by film winning awards in a total of 5 categories.

Wayne Brady served as host and master of ceremonies for the second year in a row, at the fun and spirited show, while celebrity presenters included Elisabeth Rohm (Law & Order), Pooch Hall (Ray Donovan), Chad Stahelski (director, John Wick: Chapter 2),  Sugar-Lyn Beard (Sausage Party), Tichina Arnold (Daytime Diva’s), and Dania Ramirez (Devious Maids). Celebrity and industry judges participating in this year’s ceremony included Jordan Vogt-Roberts (director, Kong: Skull Island), Jon Watts (director, Spider-Man: Homecoming), Kenneth Branagh (Dunkirk), David Cross (Kung Fu Panda, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind), Matthew Modine (Stranger Things, The Dark Knight Rises, Full Metal Jacket), Craig Mann (Oscar®- winning sound mixer: Whiplash), Avram Noble Ludwig (producer, Swingers), Mark Osbourne (director, The Little Prince, Kung Fu Panda) , Li Bingbing (Transformers: Age of Extinction, Resident Evil: Retribution), Anthony McCarten (screenplay writer, The Theory of Everything), and Chad Stahelski (300, The Matrix).

The Golden Trailer Awards were launched in 1999 by Evelyn Watters and Monica Brady as a way to recognize the best of the best in worldwide motion picture and television marketing.

“Everyone loves trailers! The Golden Trailer Awards celebrates those beloved trailers, the people who make them and the best in motion picture marketing. We recognize the teams that work countless hours to ignite excitement in movie fans all over the world and truly push this art form to the next level. This is an exciting time for our industry!” said Watters.

Added EP Brady, “Once again, we had more submissions this year than ever. We love this community of artists and editors and believe it is important to shine a spotlight on their achievements. Congratulations to all the winners and nominees. We look forward to seeing everyone again next year!”

The evening was also highlighted by a tribute to Christopher Park who passed away last month at the age of 39. Park created trailers for such movies as The Dark Knight Rises, Interstellar, Iron Man 3, The Great Gatsby and American Sniper. During his career as an editor, Park garnered numerous Golden Trailer and Kay Art Awards. On hand in the audience were Park’s son Elec and brother Daniel. A short film containing some of Christopher Park’s best work was screened for the Golden Trailer Awards audience. Park was described as an artist who “changed the way we look at movies.”

The Rise and Fall Of “The Hills” Star Spencer Pratt’s Improbable Campaign For L.A. Mayor

    Tuesday, June 9, 2026

He wrote a memoir called "The Guy You Loved to Hate." He's dabbled in rap, releasing a song called "I'm a Celebrity." He started a company selling crystals claimed to have healing properties.

But Spencer Pratt was not able to pull off his latest venture — an improbable bid to become mayor of Los Angeles. The Associated Press determined Monday that the onetime reality television personality did not qualify for the November runoff to unseat embattled incumbent Karen Bass.

Instead of Pratt, a Republican who received a nod of approval from President Donald Trump, Bass will face progressive Nithya Raman, a city council member who had challenged the Democratic mayor from the political left.

Pratt's candidacy was fueled by celebrity — he starred on "The Hills," a show about young people in Los Angeles — and videos that supporters generated with artificial intelligence. But his campaign also reflected frustration that political leaders have been unable or unwilling to address chronic problems. Pratt had relentlessly focused on homelessness, crime and decay that's marred a city otherwise known for its culinary scene, postcard scenery and a global entertainment industry.

"Enough is enough," Pratt often said on the campaign trail.

Officials spent days tallying votes from the June 2 primary, typical in a state where slow counting has made the process a target for frustration and conspiracy theories. On Friday, Pratt posted photos of himself outside city hall with a single word — "Patience."

No Republican has won a mayor's race in Los Angeles since 1997, and Pratt faced a steep climb as a first-time candidate. His political ambitions were forged by tragedy that added grit to his tabloid backstory. His house was one of thousands... Read More
