    CANNES, France --

The Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity has announced its 2026 Young Lions winners, following seven competitions across four days.

The Young Lions, sponsored by Adobe, are designed to challenge younger creatives–aged 30 and under–from every corner of the communications industry and across the world.

More than 400 young professionals take part to showcase their talent and achievements on the global stage. Competitors respond to a brief by an NGO, charity or company dedicated to a good cause, and then have just 24 hours to create a campaign. All of the entries have been judged by members of the Cannes Lions Juries during the Festival.

Simon Cook, CEO, Lions, said, “The Young Lions Competitions celebrate the incredible talent and the next generation of creative leaders who make progress possible. Congratulations to every 2026 winner and to all the team that rose to the challenge. We can’t wait to see what the 2027 competitions bring.”

Young Lions Competition winners are as follows:

    Design:
The Young Lions Design competition focuses on creating effective, refined and attractive brand identity. This year’s brief was set by Re:wild, a global conservation organisation founded alongside Leonardo DiCaprio working across 90+ countries. Re:wild challenged the Young Lions teams to design a flexible visual identity and shareable festival installation that makes nature the headline act.

    Gold
    ‘Re:hold the Earth’
Juan Manuel Linares, Art Director, DAVID, Colombia
    Alejandro Orjuela, Copywriter, Isla, Colombia

    Silver
    ‘Stand by the Wild’
Alexandre de Sousa, Lead Designer, Bastarda, Portugal
Bárbara Estefânia Fantone, Copywriter, Bastarda, Portugal

    Bronze
    ‘Re:Turn to the Wild’
Minwoo Song, Design Team Lead, STUDIOK110, South Korea
Sumin Kim, Creative Director, STUDIOK110, South Korea

    Digital:
The Young Lions Digital competition focuses on building a social-first digital campaign rooted in platform behaviour and cultural participation. Comic Relief challenged teams to reimagine the Red Nose as a symbol of modern activism for Gen Z, transforming what the Red Nose stands for in a world where young people believe change comes from communities, not institutions, and make it something they want to use, share, and shape.

    Gold
    ‘Amaz-on Red Nose’
Moyan Tang, Strategist, Havas Creative China, Mainland China
Yue Yin, Senior Strategist, Havas Creative China, Mainland China

    Gold
    ‘A Life in the Picture’

This year, the ABC Global Alliance asked competitors to craft a campaign that makes the undercounting of advanced breast cancer impossible to ignore. Designed for earned media first, with paid media used only to accelerate reach, the media idea should not simply explain the problem; it should make the consequences of missing data tangible.

    Gold
    ‘The note : I’m Here’

Duane “Keffe D” Davis’ Murder Trial Heads To Closing In Tupac Shakur’s 1996 Killing

    Friday, August 28, 2026

The murder trial of Duane "Keffe D" Davis in the 1996 killing of Tupac Shakur is headed to closing arguments after the defense rested Thursday following testimony from three former Las Vegas police officers.

Jurors are scheduled to return Monday for closing arguments before beginning deliberations in the only prosecution brought in the killing of the hip-hop icon. The presentation of evidence ended after nine days of testimony.

Davis, 63, did not take the stand.

Shakur was riding in a BMW on Sept. 7, 1996, when a white Cadillac pulled up next to it at a red light near the Las Vegas Strip and gunfire erupted. Shakur was shot multiple times and died six days later. The driver of the BMW, Marion "Suge" Knight, survived.

Years later, Davis would say he procured the gun and his nephew, who has since died, fired the shots. Prosecutors say Davis orchestrated the killing, and he faces life in prison if convicted of murder with a deadly weapon with the intent to promote, further or assist a criminal gang. He has pleaded not guilty.

Defense attorney Michael Sanft has argued that Davis fabricated or embellished his accounts of the killing for money and notoriety and that investigators failed to independently corroborate his claims.

Retired Las Vegas homicide detective Dan Long, the defense's final witness, testified that he tried unsuccessfully to verify several details Davis provided during a 2009 police interview.

Davis told Long that his nephew, Orlando "Baby Lane" Anderson, had gone to a Las Vegas hospital after being beaten by Shakur and others in a casino brawl hours before the rapper was fatally shot. Long said he was unable to find hospital records confirming Anderson was treated there.

    Long also tried... Read More
