American Cinema Editors (ACE) has unveiled the nominations for the 71st Annual ACE Eddie Awards, recognizing outstanding editing in 14 categories of film, television and documentaries. The winners will be announced LIVE during ACE’s virtual awards ceremony on April 17 at 11am PT/2pm ET.

Nominated for their editing in the dramatic feature film category were: Kirk Baxter, ACE for Mank; Alan Baumgarten, ACE for The Trial of the Chicago 7; Mikkel E.G. Nielsen for Sound of Metal; Harry Yoon, ACE for Minari; and Chloe Zhao for Nomadland.

Comedy feature editor nominees were: Mark Eckersley, ACE for I Care a Lot; Sarah Flack, ACE for On The Rocks; Matthew Friedman, ACE and Andrew Dickler for Palm Springs; James Thomas, Craig Alpert, ACE and Mike Giambra for Borat Subsequent Moviefilm;  and Frederic Thoraval for Promising Young Woman. 

As previously announced, prolific filmmaker Spike Lee will receive the ACE Golden Eddie Filmmaker of the Year Award, recognizing a filmmaker who exemplifies distinguished achievement in the art and business of film and film editors Lynzee Klingman, ACE and Sidney Wolinsky, ACE will receive Career Achievement Awards for their outstanding contributions to film editing.
