The film Bombshell will be honored with the Producer Guild’s Stanley Kramer Award, an honor established in 2002 to honor a production, producer or other individuals whose achievement or contribution illuminates and raises public awareness of important social issues. The film will receive the award at the 31st annual Producers Guild Awards on Saturday, January 18, 2020 at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles.

The film from Lionsgate and Bron Studios will be released in New York and Los Angeles beginning December 13 and takes a revealing look inside the most powerful and controversial media empire of all time, Fox News, and the explosive story of the women who brought down the man who created it. One of the first films to incisively explore the #MeToo era, Bombshell is gaining awards buzz for its lead performances and the important dialogue it is prompting about the harmful effects of abuse, power and sexism in the workplace. Bombshell features a stellar cast including Charlize Theron, Nicole Kidman, Margot Robbie, Allison Janney and John Lithgow.

Bombshell proves that cinema has the power to encapsulate moments and movements in a way that serves and enlightens us all,” read a joint statement from Producers Guild of America presidents Gail Berman and Lucy Fisher.
