Bridget Stokes Lands Her First Spot Representation, Joins The Corner Shop

The Corner Shop has brought comedy director Bridget Stokes aboard its roster for commercial representation in the U.S. and U.K./Europe. This marks her first representation in the advertising arena.

Stokes’ masterful comedy direction won her an Emmy for HBO’s A Black Lady Sketch Show in 2022. The series also earned her an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Variety Sketch Series as well as NAACP Image Award nomination for Outstanding Directing in a Comedy Series. Stokes served as director and co-executive producer alongside A Black Lady Sketch Show creator Robin Thede.

Stokes' other directing credits include the feature film Boy Genius, starring Miles Brown and Rita Wilson; Apple TV +’s series Hello, Jack! The Kindness Show; Disney’s Gabby Duran & The Unsittables; and Disney’s upcoming comedy series Saturdays.

Anna Hashmi, founder of The Corner Shop, said, “Bridget is the real deal. She’s smart, she’s funny, she’s an incredibly talented director and will be a great partner for agencies and brands to bring some fresh comedy to their commercials.”

Stokes said of her signing, “I’m really excited to be working with the folks at The Corner Shop! Their work is thoughtful and gorgeous and I’m eager to be a part of the team.”

Additionally, Stokes has produced a number of feature films including The Lost Husband starring Josh Duhamel; and Netflix’s The Rachel Divide which was nominated for Best Documentary Feature at the Tribeca Film Festival.
