Ciclope Festival Honors 5 Grand Prix Winners

Ciclope went online due to the pandemic yet managed today (12/3) to honor a healthy number of entries, totaling nearly 50, across production, post, sound & music, and special categories. 

Five of those entries earned Grand Prix distinction:

  • Brawl Stars’ “Starr Park” (directed by Steve Rogers, produced by Biscuit Filmworks and Revolver, created by Wieden+Kennedy Portland, production design by Steven Jones Evans).
  • Mori Building’s “Designing Tokyo” (directed by Sokiro Kamatani, produced by Dentsu Creative X Inc., VFX by Jitto Inc., Mark Inc. and Omnibus Japan Inc.).
  • Apple’s  “The whole working-from-home thing” (directed by Mark Molloy, produced by SMUGGLER). 
  • Hutchison Three’S “Three 5G: The future,” directed by Ian Pons Jewell, sound by String and Tins, produced by Academy Films.
  • And Beyoncé’s “Brown Skin Girl,” directed by Jenn Nkiru, produced by Iconoclast London.

Based on a points system where all credited companies receive one point for a finalist submission, three points for a Bronze award, five points for a Silver award, seven points for a Gold award and 20 points for a Grand Prix, the Ciclope Festival also delivered special awards to:

  • Production Company of the Year: Somesuch
  • Director of the Year: Mark Molloy
  • Visual Effects Company of the Year: Jitto Inc. / Mark Inc. / Omnibus Japan Inc.
  • Editor of the Year: Carla Luffe
  • Animation Company of the Year: Hornet
  • Sound Company of the Year: String & Tins
  • Music Company of the Year: Black Cat White Cat Music
  • Agency of the Year: Wieden+Kennedy
