"CODA" Wins Best Picture At Hollywood Critics Association Awards

Writer-director Siân Heder’s CODA earned Best Picture distinction at the 5th annual Hollywood Critics Association Film Awards held at the Avalon Hollywood in Los Angeles on Monday (2/28). CODA also won for Best Adapted Screenplay (Heder) and Supporting Actor (Troy Kotsur).

Topping the awards tally with four honors was Dune, including its Denis Villeneuve tying with Jane Campion for Best Director. Campion was recognized for The Power of the Dog. The other three wins for Dune were in the Cinematography (Greig Fraser), Original Score (Hans Zimmer) and Visual Effects (Brian Connor, Gerd Nefzer, Paul Lambert, Tristan Myles) categories.

Belfast garnered the Best Ensemble Cast Award. Summer of Soul was named Best Documentary. Taking the Best Musical mantle was tick, tick...Boom! And The Mitchells vs. The Machines was recognized as Best Animated Film.

Andrew Garfield took Best Actor for tick, tick...Boom! Best Actress went to Kristen Stewart for Spencer. And Ariana DeBose was named Best Supporting Actress for West Side Story.
