The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel scored three Directors Guild of America (DGA) Award nominations in the television comedy series category while Game of Thrones and Watchmen earned two apiece in the dramatic series competition, highlighting the lineup of TV nods unveiled on Friday (1/10) for the best work of 2019.

Mrs. Maisel-nominated directors were Dan Attias for the "It's the Sixties, Man!" episode, Amy Sherman Palladino for "It's Comedy or Cabbage," and Daniel Palladino for "Marvelous Radio."

Rounding out the comedy category were directors Bill Hader for the "ronny/lily" episode of Barry, and David Mandel for the "Veep" episode of Veep.

Shifting over to the DGA Awards' dramatic series competition, Game of Thrones-nominated helmers were David Nutter for "The Last of the Starks" episode, and Miguel Sapochnik for "The Long Night." The two director nominees for Watchmen were Nicole Kassell for the "It's Summer and We're Running Out of Ice" episode, and Stephen Williams for "The Extraordinary Being."

Mark Maylod took the remaining nomination in the dramatic series category for the "This Is Not For Tears" episode of Succession.

Also revealed were the DGA Award nominees for variety/talk/news/sports--specials for 2019: James Burrows and Andy Fisher for Live in Front of a Studio Audience, Norman Lear's All in the Family and The Jeffersons; Spike Jonze for Aziz Ansari: Right Now; Stan Lathan for Dave Chappelle: Sticks & Stones; Linda Mendoza for Wanda Sykes: Not Normal; and Glenn Weiss for The 91st Annual Academy Awards.

Jonze's nomination was his second this year, the other nod coming earlier in the commercials category for Medmen's "The New Normal" and Squarespace's "Dream It" spots.  Jonze now has five career DGA nominations spanning the TV, commercial and feature disciplines. He was a feature nominee for Being John Malkovich in 1999. And his three commercialmaking nods include a DGA Award win last year for Apple's "Welcome Home."

The winners will be announced and honored at the 72nd Annual DGA Awards on Saturday, January 25, at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Downtown Los Angeles.
