Ramiro Raposo Named ECD At the community

Ramiro Raposo--who’s been with la comunidad, the Buenos Aires office for the community, for the past 16-plus years--has moved stateside within the agency, joining the team in Miami as VP and the executive creative director for global brands, including Verizon and Mondelez. 

“Ramiro is a global thinker with a special sensibility to truly understand brands,” said Joaquin Molla, founder and chief creative officer of the community. “I’ve had the privilege to work with him for more than 16 years, and there’s a reason for that. We respect, support and really challenge each other. He’s one of the key people who has made, and continues to make, the community what it is today and I’m grateful he’s here to push us into the next chapter. Having him join our team in the U.S. is a gift and I can’t wait to see what he does in his next.”

Raposo has more than 20 years of experience in the industry and has been part of la comunidad since 2005, joining as sr. copywriter, continuing as a creative director, and then becoming creative general director. In 2011, Raposo took on the role of leading la comunidad as a general manager and VP. Within this role, he not only led projects for large brands at a regional and global level, but also the operation in Buenos Aires together with Julieta Rey, regional managing director. Raposo held that leadership role until this recent transition.

“I love challenges and this is not only a great challenge on a professional level but also a personal one,” said Raposo. “This new role gives me the opportunity to continue to learn and grow as a creative leader, while also allowing me to take everything I’ve learned over the past 16+ years with the community to a new team with new creative adventures and challenges. My objective is clear, to put my energy into doing work that we’re proud of, work that resonates within culture, while also supporting growing talent and continuing to evolve the culture and company I’ve been part of for so many years.”

Raposo has created work for brands such as Coca-Cola, Corona, MTV, Rolling Stone, VH1, Volkswagen, Volvo, Wrangler, and more. He’s also earned awards recognition at Cannes, Clio, One Show, D&AD, San Sebastián, Ojo de Iberoamérica, and Círculo de Creativos Argentinos. Additionally, Raposo has been a jury member for a number of award shows, including One Show, Ojo de Iberoamérica, Fiap, Desachate LIA, Wave and Diente.

The Buenos Aires operation will continue under Rey´s leadership, seconded by Ramiro González Venzano, general manager.

In his new role Raposo will report to Molla.
