Richmond, VA.-based creative animation and design studio Hue&Cry--headed by EP Scott Friske and ECD Magnus Hierta--has tapped Sara Barnthouse’s indie firm DeVine Reps to handle West Coast sales and representation duties. The addition of DeVine Reps rounds out Hue&Cry’s nationwide sales force, which includes Mo Butler Reps for the Midwest and Anna Rotholz Management for the East Coast. Earning her stripes building the VFX division at Sara Putt Associates, Donington spent 10 years nurturing and developing the careers of VFX and post talent. The VFX Post & Talent Agency opens with a core roster of 14 VFX and postproduction artisans spanning such roles as post producers and supervisors, and VFX producers, production supervisors and editors. Cooke Optics, a manufacturer known for its lineup of camera lenses, has appointed Hon Ming Lai to serve as director of sales for Asia, Australasia, Africa and the Middle East). Based in Hong Kong, he will report to Thomas Greiser, director of global sales. Lai joins Cooke from Shriro (H.K) Ltd where he spent seven years as business manager leading a sales and marketing team focused on high-end cine and video equipment including Zeiss, RED, Atomos, Tiffen and Kinoflo. Prior to that he held increasingly senior regional sales and business development roles with Kodak over 19 years, culminating in a 10-year stretch as country business manager.
