Instant Karma Films, an L.A.-based TV commercial and digital content production company, has added British born director David Masters to its roster. Masters’ work spans multiple genres which include comedy, visual storytelling, documentary/real people and long form narrative. Credits include such clients as Nokia, Golden1 Credit Union and the Canadian Cancer Society....

Canadian production veterans David Cranor and Gillian Marr have launched The Helm, a full-service commercial production company based in Toronto. The new venture--headed by EPs/managing directors Cranor and Marr--opens with a directorial roster that includes the duo A+B (Sune Lykke Albinus and Mikkel Bllabjerg), Trevor McMahan, Robin Hays, Tim Abshire, Philip Andelman, Joe Schaak, Tarik Karam, Noah Paul, Borgato & Berte and Wayne Craig....

During last week’s 2017 NAMIC Excellence in Multicultural Marketing Awards, the Burrell Comcast team won a total of nine awards for its Black History, MLK, Holiday and Acquisition creative. Three of the awards garnered by Chicago agency Burrell were for 1st place with “Celebrating Women Behind the Scenes” honored twice--in the Marketing Tactics TV and Out of Home categories--and “Tune In” scoring for Marketing Tactics-Radio....
