Production company m ss ng p eces (mp) has signed director David Ma who’s known for his food/tabletop prowess. Ma started his career as an agency creative working at Droga5, TBWA and 360i before becoming a popular creator with a large social media following. His unique take on the intersection of food and film combines surprising concepts with a more polished, cinematic food imagery, yielding a fresh take on the tabletop genre.

In 2017, his latest viral project, #foodfilms, transformed recipe videos into the styles of iconic directors like Wes Anderson, Michael Bay, Quentin Tarantino and Alfonso Cuaron. The project received over 10 million views on Facebook and YouTube.

Ma is also making a name for himself on Instagram, running popular feed, @davidwma. He posts his unique creations and sense of humor along with where to eat, favorite dishes, behind the scenes and more. His additionally has a number of original projects in the works including a comedy pilot.
