With the Creative Arts Emmy finale coming on Saturday followed by the marquee primetime Emmys telecast on Sunday, Watchmen (HBO) finds itself tied for the lead thus far with five wins. The latest honor came this evening (9/17), the fourth night of virtual Creative Arts Emmy ceremonies, as Watchmen topped the Outstanding Music Composition for a Limited Series, Movie or Special (Original Dramatic Score) category. Composers Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross took this Emmy specifically for the Watchmen episode titled “It’s Summer And We’re Running Out Of Ice.”

On Wednesday night (9/16), Watchmen scored its first four Emmy wins. This evening’s Original Dramatic Score honor deadlocked Watchmen with The Mandalorian (Disney+), which garnered its five wins yesterday.

While The Mandalorian wins marked the first Emmys for Disney+, tonight’s Creative Arts proceedings did the same for Quibi, the mobile phone platform which offers installments of movies and TV in 10 minutes or less. Quibi’s engrossing crime drama series #FreeRayshawn topped both the best actor and actress categories for short-form comedy or drama series. Laurence Fishburne won for his portrayal of police Lt. Steven Poincy while Jasmine Cehpas Jones scored in the role of Tyisha.

Saturday’s fifth and final Creative Arts Emmy Awards ceremony this season will be televised on the FXX network and like the first four installments will be emceed by actress, comedian and author Nicole Byer, who also is known for her hosting duties on Netflix’s Nailed It!

The primetime Emmy Awards ceremony on Sunday will be on ABC and hosted by Jimmy Kimmel.
