Work Editorial has promoted editor Ben Jordan to shareholding partner in New York and Los Angeles, entering the ranks of fellow partners Bill Smedley, Jane Dilworth, Neil Smith, Rich Orrick and Stewart Reeves.

Jordan initiated his editing career as a runner at Whitehouse Post at just 17. Curious about the cutting room, he climbed his way up to assistant editor, working alongside Smith, Orrick and Dilworth--eventually leaving with them to join Smedley and help found Work.

One of just two assistant editors at Work during its beginnings in London, in only a few years Jordan was cutting for the moment’s upcoming filmmakers, including Ted Lasso director M.J. Delaney and Giorgio Bruni. Jordan was promoted to editor after working with Orrick on Nike’s famed “Write The Future” World Cup commercial directed by Alejandro González Iñárritu, which won the first Grand Prix Film Crafts Lions for Editing.

Since moving to New York in 2014, Jordan has helped Work become a destination edit house, launching his U.S. career with a commercial for adidas and a Super Bowl spot for Pepsi. There, he has also developed a prolific creative relationship with director Miles Jay, with whom he has built a body of work for the likes of Volvo, Facebook and Delta.

Dilworth, founding partner at Work Editorial, commented, “Having Ben join us as a partner is an absolute joy, as he’s an incredible, fair minded talent and wonderful contributor. Over our 20 years together, Work has been through many changes, and we are all the stronger for having him alongside. It is also the way things should be--Ben is as much a part of Work as I am, and for him to have shares is the right order of things. We all feel very lucky.”

Jordan added, “I’m honored and excited to take on the role of shareholding partner in this incredible editing company. From my early days as an assistant in London to becoming an editor in New York, this journey has been nothing short of amazing. I feel incredibly proud to have joined an exceptional group of partners who have believed and supported me in my career from the beginning. I couldn’t be happier to be a partner at Work Editorial, and I look forward to journey that lies ahead.”
