Douglas Delaney joins Light Iron as supervising colorist

    Douglas Delaney
    LOS ANGELES --

Douglas Delaney has joined Light Iron, the postproduction creative-services division of Panavision, as a supervising colorist. Delaney is based out of Light Iron’s Los Angeles facility, with the ability to collaborate with clients globally through Light Iron’s comprehensive remote capabilities.

With more than two decades of experience in postproduction and image science, Delaney brings a wealth of knowledge and a deep skill set from his close collaborations with top cinematographers and directors. His credits span a diverse range of projects, including feature films like Monkey Man, Captain Marvel and Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, and episodic credits including the live-action Tulsa King and animated Secret Level.

Delaney said, “The way we post projects is constantly evolving — we’re no longer just colorists, but really finishers of the image, and technological advances mean we can do more without the massive footprints of legacy establishments. That’s a philosophy I share with Light Iron, who have been known for their cutting-edge workflows for a long time. And Panavision has no parallel in terms of their commitment to quality and their support of filmmakers.”

Delaney joins Light Iron from Picture Shop, where his credits also included the features The Exorcism and Entergalactic and the series Bel-Air, Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story and Your Honor. His previous experience also includes senior colorist and colorist roles at Technicolor and Deluxe Entertainment Services Group.

“Doug has a natural talent for enhancing storytelling and helping filmmakers bring their creative visions to life,” said Tim Belcher, managing director at Light Iron. “His long list of credits speaks for itself, and his industry experience has sharpened his craft and given him a deep understanding of color finishing.”

In Los Angeles, Delaney will work alongside fellow supervising colorists Ian Vertovec and Corinne Bogdanowicz, sr. colorists Charles Bunnag and Ethan Schwartz, and colorist Pat Fitzgerald. Light Iron’s roster of artists also includes sr. colorists Andrew Geary, Élodie Ichter and Katie Jordan and colorist Keith Jenson, who are based out of Light Iron’s New York facility. With locations across North America, Light Iron offers VFX, dailies, offline editorial rentals, mastering and archive services in addition to final color and finishing.

Coachella looks like fun and glamour for influencers. Behind the scenes, they fiercely strategize

    Saturday, April 11, 2026

Sam Mintesnot had checked off everything she possibly could have from a long list of to-dos in preparation for the Coachella music festival. She crafted the best outfits, got her hair and nails done, booked a one-way ticket to Los Angeles and flew out on Tuesday with a spreadsheet full of ideas for videos she could post related to the festival.

The only problem was that just days before the Coachella kicked off on Friday, she didn't have a ticket — at least, not yet.

Mintesnot is a content creator, and she was seeking an invitation from a brand to join them at the annual festival in Indio, California, that is sometimes called an "influencer Olympics." She posted across her social media platforms about her ticket-less journey in hopes of landing a pass to Coachella in exchange for posting videos about the brand and experience.

"You never know what's going to happen," she said. "There's so many opportunities out there."

Coachella, rife with Instagrammable moments, is a mutually beneficial opportunity for creators and businesses alike. The social media content that comes out of the sprawling music festival screams spontaneity, but industrious planning is often buzzing behind the scenes weeks, or sometimes even months, in advance. Securing brand partnerships, lining up sponsored content opportunities and building out a content calendar require patience, strategic thinking and business acumen.

Content creators are often the butt of jokes online for enterprising habits like shamelessly requesting access to events or free merchandise. But for some — including Mintesnot — it works. She received an invitation to the festival from YouTube on Wednesday, just two days before the two-weekend-long event began.
