October 14, 2015      Director Thomas Beug has joined bicoastal production company Chelsea Pictures for exclusive representation in the U.S. He has worked with brands such as Puma, Adidas, Prudential, and Budweiser. Beug began his career at Droga5 as employee #8 in 2006, and led a global PUMA campaign with top athletes such as Novak Djokovic, Dwight Howard, and Tyson Gay. His continued work with PUMA also led Beug to direct Usain Bolt’s return to Jamaica following his multiple Gold Medal victory at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. On the documentary front, Beug directed the short Hangar B, which profiled a group of octogenarians devoted to restoring antique aircraft in a spare hangar of the Floyd Bennett Airfield in Brooklyn…..Peter Moore Smith–who spent the past four years as executive creative director at Saatchi & Saatchi New York–has embarked on a directorial career, moving over to his first production company roost, Aero Film. Smith has more than 20 years’ experience in advertising. He had a 15-year tenure at BBDO New York, rising from a budding creative star to senior creative director while working on campaigns for brands such as Pepsi, Visa, GE and FedEx. During his career, Smith also held a similar position as executive vice president/executive creative director at Publicis before moving on to Saatchi & Saatchi, where he assumed the title of executive creative director and even interim chief creative officer for a time. At Saatchi & Saatchi, he oversaw all creative on General Mills and worked on notable campaigns for Cheerios as well as Walmart and Duracell. Smith is no stranger to the director’s chair. In fact earlier this year (3/30/15) he was included in SHOOT’s Up and Coming Directors feature coverage largely on the strength of a public serive spot he wrote and directed while at Saatchi & Saatchi: “The Talk” for Harlem-based youth development organization Brother/Sister Sol…..

Publicis Modem East in New York has brought Damian Claassens aboard to serve as senior vice president/creative director, a newly created role at the agency. He comes over from AKQA, New York, where he was group creative director….Jennifer Siegel, perhaps best known for her tenure as executive producer at Tool of North America, has joined bicoastal production house Shilo as its West Coast executive producer. Plans call for Shilo–which maintains shops in New York and La Jolla, Calif.–to in the coming months expand its operations out West with an office in Los Angeles….Producer Alicia Balestrino and senior editor/director Jonathan Budine have joined NY-based Motive, a creative studio specializing in identity, branding, interactive, creative development and live-action production….

Havas has acquired Berlin‑based cultural marketing agency Styleheads. Recognized for its strengths in cultural marketing, creator relations, and live activations, Styleheads will join Havas Media Network in Germany, where it will expand the capabilities of Havas’ global Play network. This integration will further support Havas Play’s mission to create content and experiences that connect people and brands through the passions that move them--music, sport, gaming, fashion and lifestyle.

As part of this integration, Havas Play and Styleheads will be brought together under a single leadership structure led by Styleheads managing director Eike Faecks, who will assume strategic and operational leadership of Havas Play across all German locations, unifying the Group’s activation, creator expertise, and cultural marketing under one vision.

Founded in 2001, Styleheads develops campaigns, events, and creator partnerships for leading brands across the fashion, lifestyle, FMCG, and entertainment sectors. For Styleheads, joining Havas provides access to the Group’s global resources and network while preserving the agency’s cultural roots, Berlin base, and independent brand identity. The combined model brings together Styleheads’ strengths in culture, creators, and live activations with Havas Media’s integrated approach across media, data, and strategy, offering clients a more powerful and culturally relevant activation proposition....
