Matthew D. Pearson has joined Frankfurt Kurnit Klein + Selz PC as a partner in the Litigation Group.
Based in the firm’s Los Angeles office, Pearson has deep experience defending class action lawsuits in a wide variety of industries, including technology, automotive, healthcare, financial services, and retail. He has special expertise in the defense of data- and privacy-based claims, frequently handling cases filed under California’s Unfair Competition Law, Consumer Legal Remedies Act, Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), Confidentiality of Medical Information Act (CMIA), Invasion of Privacy Act (CIPA), and similar statutes. He regularly counsels clients on how to mitigate the risk of litigation arising from web-based advertising technologies.
“Matt Pearson is a tremendous addition to our Litigation Group,” said Frankfurt Kurnit Litigation Group co-chair Caren Decter. “As privacy and consumer class actions continue to reshape the litigation landscape, Matt brings more of the sophisticated, class-action defense experience our clients need.”
Pearson stated, “I defend companies from claims arising out of the intersection of technology, advertising, media, and privacy. By leveraging Frankfurt Kurnit’s deep expertise in each of these areas, my clients will be better positioned to litigate cases more efficiently or avoid them altogether, and I am excited to be joining their already formidable team.”
