Harry Román-Torres named chief strategy officer at the community

    Harry Román-Torres
    NEW YORK --

The community, a global creative agency, has appointed Harry Román-Torres as its chief strategy officer. Based in New York, Román-Torres will lead the shop’s global strategy team.

Román-Torres shared his perspective on this new chapter, saying, “I’ve spent the past year and a half as a consultant, working with great partners and building meaningful relationships. But I’ve realized: impact is never a solo act. Big ideas need the muscle of a collective to bring them to life, and ambitious ideas require shared purpose. When we show up for each other, the work gets sharper, the trust deepens, and the impact grows. That’s what excites me about joining this place: it’s not just culturally honest, it’s culturally generous. And that’s how we create real impact. Through community.”

Román-Torres brings over 20 years of experience, including more than a decade at Droga5, where he rose to co-chief strategy officer, and past roles at Google and Leo New York. His work has been recognized at Cannes Lions, D&AD, and the Effie Awards.

In his new role, Román-Torres will oversee the community’s strategic offerings and products, including the agency’s Cultural Intelligence Hub, an always-on insights mining and provocation engine.

“We knew right away that Harry was not just an exceptional leader but also a great human. His strategic vision and cultural fluency are a perfect match for where we’re headed, and exactly what we need to drive our work forward,” said Luis Montero, CEO of the community. “His unique point of view and experience will be instrumental in helping our client partners stay ahead and continue to lead in this new mainstream era.”

    Friday, February 6, 2026

The Guild of Music Supervisors has named their honorees for the 16th Annual Icon Award and the Legacy Award. Singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer, the Academy Award-nominated Raphael Saadiq, will receive the Icon Award which was created to celebrate those who have made legendary contributions to the music and film industry. To be recognized by a community that celebrates the important relationship between music and cinematic story telling means a lot to me.”

Lindsay Wolfington, president of the Guild of Music Supervisors, said of Saadiq: “We are very excited to honor someone whose reach has touched so many parts of the music and media industries; Raphael Saadiq’s contributions as an artist, songwriter, producer and composer for visual media truly define what we celebrate with the GMS Icon Award.”

The recipient of the Guild of Music Supervisors’ Legacy Award this year is the late Robin Kaye, former VP of the Guild and a highly respected figure in the music supervision community.
