Joey Brenner (l) and Anna Nowlan
    LOS ANGELES --

The International Cinematographers Guild (ICG, IATSE Local 600) has appointed two new regional directors, naming Joey Brenner the Central Region director and promoting Anna Nowlan to the role of Eastern Region director.

ICG national executive director Alex Tonisson said of Brenner and Nowlan, “They are both passionate about representing our members and the need for a strong labor movement in the entertainment industry.”

Brenner most recently served as the director of organizing and bargaining with the SEIU-Florida Public Services Union, where he managed and mentored a team of organizers and secured numerous collective bargaining agreements during moments of unrest and change, such as the Great Recession and the COVID-19 pandemic. With over a decade in the labor movement, Brenner has expertise which also includes grievance processing and arbitration.

“With such a long history in the labor movement, we’re excited about the skills, experience and expertise Joey will bring to our organization,” said Deborah Lipman, ICG’s 1st national VP.

Nowlan joined the ICG as a business representative for the Eastern Region in April 2019 and served as assistant Eastern Region director before moving into her new role. Born in El Salvador, Nowlan came to the United States in 1997 and learned about the labor movement at an early age, through her mother’s leadership role in the textile worker union UNITE HERE. In addition to a career in labor organization, Nowlan has also worked as a community organizer and for Barack Obama’s reelection campaign in 2012.

“In her years with the union, Anna has fought tirelessly for our Eastern Region members and our membership as a whole,” said Chris Silano, ICG National VP.

Brenner and Nowlan round out ICG’s roster of three regional directors, joining Western Region director Michaella Bursalyan, who was appointed to her role in January 2024.

Riff Raff has signed Ehsan--a London-based director working across film, TV, commercials and music videos--for exclusive representation in the U.K. Ehsan has turned out work for brands including BBC, Nike, Google, Coca-Cola, Porsche, U.K.’s Channel 4 and Fortnight. While touring the European festival circuit, Ehsan began directing branded projects alongside A-list photographers, eventually heading up the video arm of JN Group, where he was commissioned to direct fashion films for clients such as Burberry, YSL, and River Island. His commercial career gained momentum with a playful “SPOT the Difference” film for Louis Vuitton x Kusama, followed by a Vertu commercial that won a Young Director Award, opening the door to high-profile automotive campaigns for BMW, Mercedes, Jaguar, and Lexus. Ehsan has increasingly focused his lens on stories rooted in culture and community. Collaborating with brands such as the NFL, Nike, Pringles, and the Premier League, he has continued to showcase his distinctive style, celebrating colorful characters, life’s odd little ironies, and the joy of making work that connects. His mission is to open minds on screen and doors off screen, championing mentorship and charitable partnerships while striving to give a voice to the voiceless....
