Oscar-winning VFX supervisor Sara Bennett has joined forces with Untold Studios as part of the company’s expanding film and episodic team.
Bennett joins from Milk, the London-based VFX studio she co-founded in 2013, where she built an award-winning body of work across feature film and high-end television. She made history in 2016 when she became the second woman to win the Academy Award for Best Visual Effects, taking home the Oscar for Alex Garland’s Ex Machina. The film also earned her a BAFTA Film Award nomination.
Her arrival comes amid a growing run of film and episodic work for Untold Studios, which has a recent and upcoming slate that includes Netflix’s Remarkably Bright Creatures, Ridley Scott’s The Dog Stars, Amazon Prime Video’s The Boys, FX and Disney+’s Alien: Earth, Disney’s Lilo & Stitch and Paramount’s Sonic the Hedgehog 3.
“Sara is one of the industry’s most respected VFX supervisors, with an outstanding track record across film and television,” said Untold Studios executive director Christopher Gray, “With more than 25 years of experience, her creative talent, technical expertise and reputation are exceptional. She is not only a tremendous creative force with a passion for excellence, but also a collaborative leader who brings out the best in those around her. As Untold continues to grow across major studio and streamer projects, Sara’s arrival marks an exciting next step for our film and episodic team.”
