Based in FKKS’ New York office, Jefferson has wide-ranging experience in all areas of film and television development, production, and distribution, representing financiers, production companies, distributors, independent producers, filmmakers and athletes.
Best Lawyers in America recently named Jefferson to its “Ones to Watch” list for Entertainment and Sports. Jefferson has also been recognized as a leading entertainment lawyer by Variety, Diverse Representation, and Lawyers of Color.
Jefferson represents production companies and financiers in structuring and executing complex single and multi-picture (slate) financing transactions. He advises international co-productions on capital raises involving debt, equity and production incentives from foreign governments. He also advises private equity and fund managers transitioning into media and entertainment.
Jefferson has negotiated and structured virtually every type of development and production agreement, including international co-productions and complex underlying rights deals. His recent work also includes representing filmmakers and financiers in award-winning documentaries.
