    LOS ANGELES & LONDON --

    MOCEAN, a creative agency and production company for entertainment and brands, has appointed Ryan Bucci as head of creative, brand & social. In his new role, Bucci will lead creative across brand and social clients such as PlayStation, North Italia, Cheesecake Factory, Waymo, Cicis Pizza, Amazon Prime Video, Universal, Netflix, Warner Bros, Discovery, and more. With a career spanning global brands including Michelob Ultra, Jordan Brand, Beats by Dre, Dunkin’, Beam Suntory, and IKEA, Bucci has consistently set new benchmarks in branded entertainment. Most recently, Bucci served as VP, executive creative director at Publicis Groupe, where he led a team of 40 creatives across major enterprise accounts such as Campbell’s and Jim Beam. His work on Jim Beam’s 2024 football season campaign featuring Keegan-Michael Key drew critical acclaim, while his “McEnroe vs. McEnroe” campaign stands as one of his most crowning achievements. Bucci was recently named one of the top 100 creative directors by D&AD, securing the number 9 spot….

    Harbor has added visual effects supervisor Gus Ribeiro to its advertising VFX roster. He brings to his new roost over a decade of experience in high-end VFX across film, TV and advertising. His career includes tenures at such studios as Framestore, The Mill, Untold and Absolute. Ribeiro has collaborated with noted directors including Dougal Wilson, Sam Pilling and Chris Balmond. Standout commercial credits include John Lewis’ “Excitable Edgar” and Amazon’s “An Unlikely Friendship.” In TV, he worked on Netflix’s The Crown, contributing to its VES Gold Stick award for VFX. Ribeiro’s film credits include Paddington 2, Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, and Avengers: Infinity War, the latter earning both Oscar and BAFTA nominations for VFX….

    Raphael Saadiq and Robin Kaye named Guild of Music Supervisors’ Icon and Legacy Award Winners, Respectively

    The Guild of Music Supervisors has named their honorees for the 16th Annual Icon Award and the Legacy Award. Singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer, the Academy Award-nominated Raphael Saadiq, will receive the Icon Award which was created to celebrate those who have made legendary contributions to the music and film industry. Previous recipients of the Icon Award include Quincy Jones, Burt Bacharach, Kenny Loggins, Marc Shaiman, and Stephen Schwartz.

    Saadiq--who is currently up for an Oscar for co-writing ((with Ludwig Göransson) the original song “I Lied to You” for Sinners--commented, “I am honored to be the recipient of this year’s Icon Award. Music plays such an important role in how stories are told on screen and I have always believed in the power of music to deepen emotion and connect people to the story. To be recognized by a community that celebrates the important relationship between music and cinematic story telling means a lot to me.”

    Lindsay Wolfington, president of the Guild of Music Supervisors, said of Saadiq: “We are very excited to honor someone whose reach has touched so many parts of the music and media industries; Raphael Saadiq’s contributions as an artist, songwriter, producer and composer for visual media truly define what we celebrate with the GMS Icon Award.”

    The recipient of the Guild of Music Supervisors’ Legacy Award this year is the late Robin Kaye, former VP of the Guild and a highly respected figure in the music supervision community.
