The Midnight Club names Emily Mitchell as its first managing director

Emily Mitchell (l) and Ben Moutrie
    LONDON --

The Midnight Club has promoted Emily Mitchell to the new role of managing director, where she will lead the collective’s strategic growth agenda, and help shape its future direction to ensure the business is set up to expand with intent.

The Midnight Club is the 360 creative studio from MIDNIGHTTM Creative Group, which Mitchell joined last July as group brand director, helping to connect its strategic, creative, production, and creative technology offerings. As managing director, she will continue to work across the group, reporting to founder Ben Moutrie.

Prior to joining, she spent 11 years at McCann London, where she was the global strategic lead across the Pernod Ricard portfolio of brands, and Wimbledon Tennis Championships, among others. Alongside that, she championed the agency’s effectiveness agenda, and led McCann Worldgroup’s Global Luxury consultancy offering. Between 2018 and 2019 she spent 10 months working at McCann Tokyo across two secondments.

Mitchell is also the founder of Konker, an app aimed at new parents looking for stress-free family adventures in London, available on the app store and android. She developed and launched Konker while on her own maternity leave.

Moutrie, founder of TMC–which has more than 120 people across, London, NYC, Los Angeles, Portland, Amsterday and Leeds–said, “Em’s promotion after just 10 months speaks for itself. We’ve been searching for our first MD for some time–her energy, entrepreneurial instinct and razor-sharp strategic mind made the decision easy. We’re proud to see her step into such a pivotal role and continue to push the company forward.”

Mitchell said, “After more than a decade in a global agency network, I wasn’t looking to do the same job in a different place. The Midnight Club had always been intriguing, visible through its work but not easily defined. The more time I spent with Ben and saw behind the curtain–the ambition, the thinking, the way the business operates in a completely unique way–the more I knew it was somewhere I wanted to be. It’s an incredibly exciting moment for The Midnight Club, and it’s a real privilege to step up as its first managing director and help shape that next chapter.”

This year marks a decade since Moutrie set up The Midnight Club as a 360-degree creative studio based in London. Since then it has expanded to include brand-building studio The Beginning, production and talent division ZERO and creative technology specialist Off—Piste, with a presence in New York, Los Angeles, Portland, Leeds, and Amsterdam. In late 2025, Midnight Creative Group gained B Corp status.

Beyoncé, Taylor Swift, Chaka Khan and Vince Gill enter National Recording Registry

    Thursday, May 14, 2026

Albums and songs from Taylor Swift,Beyoncé, Chaka Khan and The Go-Go's are joining America's audio canon.

The new inductees into the National Recording Registry at the Library of Congress include Swift's blockbuster 2014 pop album "1989," Beyoncé's era-defining 2008 anthem "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)," Khan's genre-blending hit "I Feel for You," Vince Gill's emotional ballad "Go Rest High on That Mountain" and The Go-Go's groundbreaking debut album "Beauty and the Beat."

They were among the 25 recordings entering the archive in the class of 2026, acting Librarian of Congress Robert Newlen announced Thursday. The selections were chosen for their "cultural, historical or aesthetic importance in the nation's recorded sound heritage."

"Music and recorded sound are essential, wonderful parts of our daily lives and our national heritage," Newlen said in a statement. "The National Recording Registry works to preserve our national playlist for generations to come."

Other recordings entering the registry include Ray Charles' groundbreaking country crossover album "Modern Sounds in Country and Western Music," Reba McEntire's "Rumor Has It," Rosanne Cash's "The Wheel" and Weezer's self-titled debut known as "The Blue Album."

Classic singles from Gladys Knight and the Pips, The Byrds, José Feliciano and Paul Anka also earned inclusion.

Among the more unconventional selections are the soundtrack to the influential 1993 video game "Doom" and the radio broadcast of "The Fight of the Century," the legendary 1971 heavyweight boxing match between Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier.

The oldest recording in this year's class is Spike Jones and His City Slickers' 1944 single "Cocktails for Two." The newest is Swift's... Read More
