    “Wicked: For Good” tops Hollywood Music in Media Awards with 6 nominations

    HOLLYWOOD, Calif. --

    The Hollywood Music in Media Awards™ (HMMA) has unveiled the 2025 nominees for scores and songs in film and other visual media categories. The 16TH Annual HMMAs will be held on November 19, 2025 at The Avalon in Hollywood, CA. The HMMA honors composers, songwriters, and music supervisors around the world for their contributions over the previous year in music for film, TV, video games, and more.

    For the first time ever, the HMMAs awards ceremony will be live streamed globally via the Laurel Canyon Live app beginning at 8 pm PST. Limited tickets to attend the HMMA are on sale now at TicketTailor.com.

    Special performances will include A.R. Rahman, Diane Warren and Kesha, Aiyana-Lee, Jeff Beal and Afghan pop star Aryana Sayeed, with others to be announced.

    2025 HMMA nominations highlights:
    Wicked: For Good received 6 nominations; Sinners received 5 nominations, F1 received 4 nominations, as did The Ballad of Wallis Island.

    Song nominees include Ludwig Göransson, Miles Caton, Alice Smith, Raphael Saadiq, Miley Cyrus, Mark Ronson, Andrew Wyatt, Diane Warren, Ed Sheeran, Blake Slatkin, Shakira, HUNTR/X, Sara Bareilles, Brandi Carlile, Don Toliver, Doja Cat, Ryan Tedder, Grant Boutin, Aiyana-Lee, Billy Idol, J. Ralph, Sam Ryder, Karol G., and John Mayer, among many others.

    Song – Onscreen Performance nominees include: EJAE, Rei Ami, Audrey Nuna (aka HUNTR/X); Aiyana-Lee; Bono; Miles Caton; Tom Basden and Carey Mulligan.

    HMMA nominated composers and songwriters include Hans Zimmer, Ludwig Göransson, Alexandre Desplat, Simon Franglen, Michael Giacchino, Daniel Lopatin, Nine Inch Nails, Stephen Schwartz, John Powell, Max Richter, Volker Bertelmann, Laura Karpman, Son Lux, Daniel Pemberton, Pancho Burgos-Goizueta, Jeff Beal, Tom Howe, Aaron Zigman, Stephanie Economou, and Gordy Haab.

    Past HMMA winners who have gone on to win Oscars include Billie Eilish and FINNEAS for What Was I Made For? and No Time to Die; Hans Zimmer for Dune; Trent Reznor, Atticus Ross and Jon Batiste for Soul; Hildur Guðnadóttir for Joker; Ludwig Göransson for Black Panther; Alexandre Desplat for Shape of Water; songs from Judas & the Black Messiah, La La Land, and A Star is Born, among others.

    Raphael Saadiq and Robin Kaye named Guild of Music Supervisors’ Icon and Legacy Award Winners, Respectively

    The Guild of Music Supervisors has named their honorees for the 16th Annual Icon Award and the Legacy Award. Singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer, the Academy Award-nominated Raphael Saadiq, will receive the Icon Award which was created to celebrate those who have made legendary contributions to the music and film industry. Previous recipients of the Icon Award include Quincy Jones, Burt Bacharach, Kenny Loggins, Marc Shaiman, and Stephen Schwartz.

    Saadiq--who is currently up for an Oscar for co-writing ((with Ludwig Göransson) the original song “I Lied to You” for Sinners--commented, “I am honored to be the recipient of this year’s Icon Award. Music plays such an important role in how stories are told on screen and I have always believed in the power of music to deepen emotion and connect people to the story. To be recognized by a community that celebrates the important relationship between music and cinematic story telling means a lot to me.”

    Lindsay Wolfington, president of the Guild of Music Supervisors, said of Saadiq: “We are very excited to honor someone whose reach has touched so many parts of the music and media industries; Raphael Saadiq’s contributions as an artist, songwriter, producer and composer for visual media truly define what we celebrate with the GMS Icon Award.”

    The recipient of the Guild of Music Supervisors’ Legacy Award this year is the late Robin Kaye, former VP of the Guild and a highly respected figure in the music supervision community.
