Cadence Films Signs Director Anton Tammi For Commercials, Music Videos

    Anton Tammi
    NEW YORK --

Commercial and music video director and photographer Anton Tammi has joined Cadence Films’ roster of talent for U.S. representation. Cadence will handle Tammi for spots and music videos.

Known for his cult-music videos racking up millions of views, Tammi has won Video of The Year at the MTV Music Video Awards 2020 for his work on The Weeknd’s “Blinding Lights.” Tammi has also collaborated with the singer on music videos for his songs “Heartless,” “After Hours,” and “In Your Eyes,” as well as the still photography for his sixth album cover. In addition to The Weeknd, Anton has worked with artists like Lykke Li, Grimes, Halsey, and Yung Lean to create visionary scenescapes that complement their music.

Tammi directed two global campaigns for Yves Saint Laurent featuring Zoë Kravitz and Lenny Kravitz and photographed the key visuals for YSL Y–Intense. His commercial clients include brands like Gucci, The North Face, Rimowa, Bang & Olufsen, Mercedes-Benz, Genesis, and Audemars Piguet.

The Finnish director said of signing with Cadence Films, “I love that the company is founded and based in New York. That’s the city where I started! I created my first internationally known work in New York when I first moved out from Finland: the JIL – All Your Words video. It feels right for me to return to New York and work with like-minded people in the city who understand me and my style! I know with Cadence I can continue developing my filmmaking and photography in exactly the direction I genuinely and organically want to take it. During the next few years, we want to put out next-level work that surpasses even the success of my ‘Blinding Lights’ music video.”

Cadence Films co-founder and executive producer Lorenzo Ragionieri added, “Anton embodies the brand of filmmaking we believe in at Cadence: bold, modern, graphic, and never lacking in either style or substance. He brings an ambitious artistic vision to every project and backs that up with attention to detail and technical know-how across both live-action and post. He is a bright light for big, visual storytelling with humanity at its core.”

Tammi–who was previously repped by production house Somesuch–is the latest addition to Cadence which handles directors working across fashion, commercials, music videos and film. Earlier this year, Cadence–which maintains offices in New York and Paris–brought creative team NDVD and director Yuann aboard its roster.

Google offers ad-tech changes in EU antitrust case but a breakup is not one of them

Google has offered to make major changes to its business practices to resolve a European Union antitrust case targeting its ad-tech business, but they don't include breaking up the company.

The compliance plan Google submitted to the European Commission — the 27-nation bloc's top antitrust enforcer — includes "immediate product changes" to end specific practices, the company said in a blog post.

"Our proposal fully addresses the EC's decision without a disruptive break-up that would harm the thousands of European publishers and advertisers who use Google tools to grow their business," the company said Friday.

Google also said it's appealing the commission's decision to slap the company with a 2.95 billion euro ($3.4 billion) fine in September for breaching the bloc's competition rules by favoring its own digital advertising services. It accused Google of abusing its dominance by favoring its own online display advertising technology services to the detriment of competitors, online advertisers and publishers.

As part of the punishment, Google was also required to come up with proposals to end what the Commission called "self-preferencing practices" and stop "conflicts of interest."

The Commission said it would force Google to sell off parts of its business if it wasn't satisfied with the company's proposed remedies.

Google's changes include giving publishers more pricing options on its ad management platform. To address conflicts of interest, the company is modifying its ad tools to give publishers and advertisers more choice and flexibility.

"We will now analyse Google's proposed measures to assess whether they effectively bring the self-preferencing practices to an end and address the situation of inherent... Read More
